The wildly popular Museum of Illusions is opening this fall in the city that never sleeps, New York.
What Is It?
It’s an interactive museum that offers an interesting visual and educational experience.
The Museum consists of illusionistic rooms, optical illusions and a playroom with didactic games and puzzles. You can laugh, scream, run, take photos and are allowed to play and get creative!
It is made of more than 70 exhibits which are all based on science, mathematics, biology and psychology. Visitors can learn a lot about vision, perception, the human brain and science through attractive and fun exhibits. In that way, they also learn why our eyes see things that our brain does not understand.
The Museum of Illusions is a 21st century museum that aims at entertaining visitors, but also wants to make you question all your senses. Our eye is imperfect, and so is our brain. This museum shows you how you can have a lot of fun when your eyes see something that your brain does not understand.
WHAT’S INSIDE ?
AMES ROOM
In one corner of the room there is a giant, in the other a dwarf! Experience how a person walking back or forth either grows or shrinks before your very eyes in this incredible room of illusions. To the viewers it looks like an ordinary room but in effect it is masterly distortedmaking them experience an amazing visual illusion.
ROTATED ROOM
Are you ready to radically change your view of the world? How about for 90 degrees? Have photos of incredible poses taken! Your imagination is the limit.
HEAD ON THE PLATTER
Have you always wanted somebody’s head on a tray? Well it’s time your wish came true. Experience the illusion of a hidden body. Nobody involved will be hurt. Everybody will have fun.
THE CHAIR ILLUSION
It is unbelievable how the perceived size of a person depends on the context which is suggested by the objects which surround it. Explore the laws of perception and play with roles and size rate by simply trying the chair!
OPTICAL ILLUSIONS
