Upgrade Starring Logan Marshall- Green {Review}

Imagine being set up only to watch your wife die right before your eyes? That’s what happened to Grey Trace {Logan Marshall-Green} in NBC Universal’s Upgrade. A sci-fi horror film about a man who loses his wife and becomes paralyzed after they are attacked. He then is offered the opportunity to gain his movement back along with special abilities no other human possesses.

Trace then goes out to seek revenge for his wife. The movie moves at a slower pace than I would have imagined for this type of film. But it adds to the suspense of the film and adds to the realness where you as the viewer are experiencing everything right along with him.

One of the cool  abilities Trace has gained is a computer voice inside his head that guides him and provides him with all the knowledge and skill needed to gain revenge. This makes the fight scenes funny because he has no prior experience fighting criminals and is also amazed at his new abilities.

Logan plays the part of Trace very well and realistic. Just because he’s gained these abilities doesn’t necessarily make him an expert about it, mentally that is. Logan balances it very well; a normal guy whose lost his wife that’s suddenly has new powers. Because let’s face it, these types of changes aren’t always the easiest to handle!

Overall, I recommend this movie to sci-fi lovers. It’s interesting to see how someone with new powers and a computer embedded within him can do.
