KAABOO, a three-day music festival held in different parts across the U.S. They just held their first ever sold-out show in Del Mar, California. The music festival is supposed to be a more luxurious and upscale version of any other music festival in the world. Because of this, they have added many different activities that one may not find at other festivals including an art gallery, hot-air balloon ride, gourmet food and more. But after spending an entire weekend at the festival the absolute highlight of the whole event to me was “Humor Me.”

What is Humor Me? Humor Me is their comedy portion of the event. It’s the place where you can sit in a nice air-conditioned (this is important) hangar and enjoy an hour of comedy. Granted, the more shows you attend the more hours you spend in the dimly lit room decorated with romantic chandeliers.
Comedy has grown increasingly popular over the years, especially with Netflix putting out so many comedy specials, so it was a smart idea for the creators of KAABOO to add this branch of entertainment into their lineup.
Here is the comedy lineup:

Friday: Erik Griffin, Nikki Glaser, Tom Papa, Craig Ferguson.
Saturday: Orny Adams w/ Ari Mannig, Louis Anderson, Whitney Cummings, Craig Robinson, Iliza Shlesinger.
Sunday: Pauly Shore, Kevin Nealon, Judd Apatow.
KAABOO had strict rules when it came to the comedy club, Humor Me, there were absolutely no photos or video allowed. And no use of phones allowed. Which was fine because you were left to enjoy the comedy and have a great time laughing while wireless.
The most popular comedy acts were Craig Ferguson, Whitney Cummings and Iliza Shlesinger. Craig and Iliza sold out immediately.
Instinct Culture was able to catch comedian Tom Papa on Friday. Tom Papa was well worth the hour spent at his show. He had the crowd laughing the entire time, making jokes about aging, gaining weight and having shitty jobs.
Instinct Culture also caught Whitney Cummings’ comedy show after waiting over an hour in line to gain a Laugh Pass ( KAABOO’s Free Ticket). Her show was also spectacular, her show consisted of Me Too, sexual harassment, and sex robot jokes. Non-stop laughing at her show, that’s for sure!
Overall, I think the addition of Humor Me to KAABOO made the festival stand out above others. It gives you the opportunity to laugh, sit down and enjoy yourself without standing out in the hot sun.
