This past weekend Disney sadly announced the untimely passing of one of their current and brightest stars, Cameron Boyce, ending the 20 year old’s on going battle with Epilepsy.  Cameron was found and pronounced dead on the scene when paramedics were called to his home in Los Angeles. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” the family spokesperson said in a statement to ABC. “We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

Cameron was in the midst of promoting his latest Disney channel project, The Descendants 3, for which he reprises his role as Carlos, the evil offspring of Cruella de Vil.

He starred in the films previous 2 prequels as well as worked on the sitcom Jessie from 2011-2015, portraying the character Luke Ross.  Since his passing- an outpouring of kind words has been shown through those that know and loved him including posts from his Disney channel co-stars, comedian Adam Sandler who worked with Cameron in his Grown Ups films, and even former First Lady Michelle Obama, who appeared on an episode of Jessie.  Read the heartbreaking commentary below:

This ripped me up. I keep trying and I can’t make anything make sense. He was blameless, and relentlessly joyful; he was good. Through and through, Cam is good, in all ways and to all people. And the most alive. It’s wrong. I am so confused and devastated and angry. But that isn’t very Cam. He’d cast any shade of sadness or darkness in colors of positivity; he couldn’t help himself but to always leave you smiling, or laughing, or dancing. So sincere, kid Truth. He was good. My heart is with his parents, Vic and Libby, full of grace, and his wonderful sister Maya. An unimaginable sorrow. I’m grateful for our Jessie family, with whom to uniquely grieve our guy — Peyton, Skai, Kevin and Karan, whose soul is also far too special to have to experience this depth of grief. There are beautiful connections and beams of light, ever present, truly the fingerprints of Cam still around and showing up in the midst of this. I love him so much. Forever. You’re alive in the legacy of love you built, and I will keep that light burning in me for the rest of my journey. The world was robbed. We’re better for you.

I've been on break from social media these past couple of days. I don't really know what to say. Other than I love everyone in this photo. And I miss them, and I want to hug them. And I want to see them more often. And my heart is broken for Cam's family, friends, and anyone that had the great pleasure of meeting him. The world's lost one of its most special people. He had a way of making you feel like the funniest person when you were with him, and that anything was possible. He believed in people so much. If you want to help continue Cam's legacy, may I suggest donating to @thirstproject to help build wells for people without access to clean water. Cam was a big supporter and I don't think there's a better way to remember him than by bringing life, love, and happiness into other people's lives, just like Cam did to everyone he met. And tell your friends you love them. To their faces, not over Instagram.
