WWE had made some roster cuts.
Fightful reported on Friday that Baron Corbin has been informed WWE will not be renewing his deal. Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell have been released and will officially become free agents after 90 days.
Corbin posted to X after news of his WWE departure broke, writing, “That’s all she wrote folks. It’s been real and I appreciate everyone who supported me.”
Hartwell wrote, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Nox wrote, “Some things are just out of your control and you can only do as much as you can. Let’s clear one thing up though. I’m ready. I’ve been ready. Just have to show people what they’ve missed.”
Corbin started in WWE’s developmental system in the summer of 2012. In his over 12 years with the company, he was a one-time United States Champion, one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Bron Breakker, and winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in 2016, the Money in the Bank in 2017, and the King of the Ring in 2019.
Hartwell started with WWE in late 2019. Along with Candice LeRae, she’s a former NXT Tag Team Champion, and she won the NXT Women’s Championship in a six-woman ladder match at Stand & Deliver 2023. Her last match for the company was a tag loss along with LeRae to Bayley and Naomi that was taped on October 25 and aired on Friday, the day of her release.
Chelsea Green posted to X regarding Hartwell’s release, writing, “I know @indi_hartwell ‘s future is full of opportunities and success but it still hurts to hear the news. I’ll miss you at work, Sam!! I’m counting down the days, 90 to be exact, until you take over the world.”
Nox started with WWE in 2017, but her momentum was slowed considerably by knee injuries. The first occurred just before the first Mae Young Classic, and the second occurred in the 2018 tournament in a quarterfinal match against Rhea Ripley. She suffered another torn ACL in 2020 as well. Nox was released in late 2021 but returned 13 months later, in December 2022. She wrestled on episodes of Main Event, in dark matches, and at live events but was only used sparingly on television. The last time she wrestled was a dark match from the July 5 SmackDown when she lost to Blair Davenport.
