AEW Dynamite November 13, 2024: FTR vs. House of Black, Britt Baker Returns To Action, Adam Cole & Roderick Strong Seek Their 3rd Victories

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut! FTR battle House of Black in the main event! Britt Baker returns to action against Penelope Ford. Adam Cole and Roderick Strong seek their third and final victories on the road to Full Gear. Christian Cage and Adam Page face Jay White and Juice Robinson, and more!

We break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!

Adam Page & Christian Cage (w/ Nick Wayne & Mama Wayne) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Jay White & Juice Robinson)

Page and White kick off the action with a lock up. Whtie takes down Page with a headlock takeover. Page responds with an elbow strikes and a series of stomps. Cage tags himself in. White whips him into the corner, then tags in Juice. Juice and Cage lock up in the corner. Cage kicks him then, but Juice fights back with a series of punches. Cage lands a neckbreaker. Meanwhile, Page kicks him while he’s down. Juice rolls to the outside. Nick Wayne kicks him as the referee is distracted. Page rolls Juice back in the ring, where Cage chops him in the corner. Page tags himself in and elbows Juice in the corner. Page chops Juice then lands a side slam for a near fall.

Cage tags in and puts his boot on Juice’s face. Cage follows up with another neckbreaker. Juice is pushed to the outside, where Wayne again sizes him up. Hook, however, comes up from behind and drags him over the barricade. They brawl into the crowd. Juice drives Cage to the floor on the outside.

Page whips Cage back in the ring. Juice tags in White, who then tees off with Page. White takes down Page with a leg whip. White hits a DDT. Cage looks for a Killswitch, but White reverses it into a DDT. Juice and White charge at Page in the corner. White delivers a drop brainbuster to Page. Juice gets another near fall. Juice goes up top, but Page sweeps his legs. Page digs his thumbs into the eyes of White then takes him down with a lariat. Page meets Juice on the top rope and connects with a fallaway slam. Page follows up with a Liger Bomb, but White breaks up the subsequent pinfall. White uppercuts Cage. Page looks to stun him with a buckshot lariat, but White reverses. All four men trade moves.

Juice rains down with right hands on Page. Juice rolls up Page, but Mama Wyne distracts the referee. Kip Sabian slams Cage’s title shot clipboard over the head of Juice. Page capitalizes with a pinfall for the win.

Winners: Adam Page & Christian Cage

Backstage, Mercedes Mone says it’s not her fault that Kamille can’t drive and failed to run over Kris Statlander last week. Mone insists that she’s not afraid of Statlander. Statlander, however, charges through Kamille, and begins fighting Mone. Statlander eventually sends both of them crashing through the wall.

We Hear From Will Ospreay & Kyle Fletcher

Ospreay calls Kyle Fletcher out to the ring. Fletcher says he has to prove that he’s not a coward, unlike Ospreay. Fletcher says he’s out here to meet Ospreay face-to-face, but warns that The Don Callis Family is not far behind. Ospreay tells Fletcher to remove whatever it is from his pocket. Fletcher does as such, removing a screwdriver that Ospreay then throws away. Ospreay recalls letting Fletcher stay at his house and later opening door for him at AEW.

Ospreay says Fletcher knows everything about him. Ospreay now wants answers about his betrayal. Fletcher says Ospreay is trying to take credit for someone else’s success. Fletcher says Don Callis gave him an opportunity to see the truth. Fletcher calls Ospreay selfish and claims he wanted to make sure Fletcher never surpassed him. Fletcher says Ospreay would have done the same thing as him.

Ospreay tells Fletcher to make up his mind of whether he’s his own person or an Ospreay clone. Ospreay owns up to turning on Okada and Omega, but before that, he was already an established champion. Ospreay asks Fletcher what he’s done in his career. Fletcher says he is going to surpass Ospreay in every way possible, and he wants to prove it in a match at AEW Full Gear. Ospreay accepts. Fletcher says he’s coming for everything at Full Gear.

Brian Cage and Lance Archer emerge beside Fletcher. Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis join Ospreay to even the odds, leading to a brawl between the six. Ospreay dives onto Fletcher and levels him at ringside. Archer throws Davis out of the ring.

Falls Count Anywhere: Roderick Strong vs. Lance Archer

Archer runs up the ramp, preparing for his match against Roderick Strong. Strong hits him with a kendo stick from behind. The two brawl backstage.

Back from break, Strong rams Archer’s head into the barricade. Brian Cage and Archer prepare to double team Strong, but Matt Taven and Mike Bennett arrive to save him. Archer chokeslams Taven onto the security guards. Archer looks for another chokeslam on Strong, but Strong sweeps him off his feet. Strong slams a chair into Archer’s forehead. Strong connects with a jumping kick over the barricade for the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong

Post-match, Strong vows to finish MJF’s ass at AEW Full Gear. Konosuke Takeshita attacks him from behind. Adam Cole’s music hits. He then heads to the ring for his match against Takeshita.

Konosuke Takeshita vs. Adam Cole

Takeshita and Cole trade strikes. Cole whips him over the top rope and to the floor. Cole connects with a kick. He then looks for a Panama Sunrise, but Takeshita counters with a big elbow strike.

Back from break, Takeshita lands a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Takeshita connects with an elbow strike, but Cole fights back with some of his own. Cole hits an enziguri. Takeshita responds with a rolling elbow and another Blue Thunder Bomb. Cole hits a big kick on Takeshita and connects with a Panama Sunrise. Cole then looks for The Boom, but Takeshita rolls out of the ring. Takeshita reveals MJF’s diamond ring and puts it on. Takeshita clocks Cole in the face with the ring on and covers Cole for the three count.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

After the match, Strong attacks Konosuke Takeshita, but Takeshita fights back. He then prepares to hit Strong with the ring until Kyle O’Reilly makes the save. As Takeshita retreats up the ramp, Ricochet blindsides him with a kick. Back in the ring, Cole extends his hand for O’Reilly to shake, but O’Reilly refuses.

Backstage, MVP calls Bobby Lashley a dominant force and points out that Lashley may end Swerve Strickland’s career at AEW Full Gear. Lashley vows to inflict pain on him.

Blackpool Combat Club Cause More Chaos

Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta emerge on the ramp beating a steel chair to JD Drake. Meanwhile, Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir walk to the ring through the crowd. Moxley says he’s been thinking about Orange Cassidy. Moxley says Cassidy has the chance of a lifetime at Full Gear, and all of his friends are depending on him. Moxley, however, plans to make an example of him by stomping his face into hamburger meat. Moxley says everyone will see that, and they’ll hide while the Blackpool Combat Club continue to run AEW.

Cassidy emerges with a mic in hand. Mark Briscoe and Rocky Romero join him on the stage. Cassidy says Moxley holds the symbol of AEW in his briefcase — the AEW World Championship. Cassidy says to win gold, you have to wrestle. And Cassidy is pretty good at wrestling, as proven by already beating Moxley. Cassidy vows to beat Moxley again and get the power back. Cassidy calls Yuta a pawn and calls him out for a match next week. Cassidy vows to remove Yuta from the board, which then leads him to the king. Moxley says no matter what happens next week, the AEW locker room should abandon all hope.

BCC begin to retreat through the crowd until Darby Allin dives onto them. BCC and The Conglomeration brawl. BCC, minus Yuta, eventually break free and begin to drive off, but Allin jumps into the bed of it. Claudio whips Allin into the parking lot garage door. As BCC drive off, Yuta makes it into the bed of the truck.

Penelope Ford vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD

Baker takes down Ford for a quick pinfall attempt, but Ford kicks out. Baker and Ford trade arm submissions until Baker clocks her with an elbow strike. Baker follows up with a neckbreaker. Ford plays cat and mouse with Baker on the outside. Ford pulls Baker’s legs and lands a big elbow strike. Ford follows up with double knees to Baker’s midsection.

Back from break, Baker sends Ford face-first into the turnbuckle. Baker lands a pair of clotheslines and follows up with a slingblade. Ford connects with a running boot on Baker in the corner. Baker fights back with a big elbow, but Ford regains momentum with a cutter. Ford looks for a moonsault, but Baker rolls out of the way. Baker delivers a back heel kick and a neckbreaker. Baker goes for a Lockjaw, but Ford rocks her with a dropkick from behind. Ford bridges into a leg submission, but Baker counters with the Lockjaw for the win.

Winner: Britt Baker

Post-match, Serena Deeb appears on the stage and stares down Britt Baker.

Backstage, Mina Shirakawa is back in AEW. Shirakawa says she is so excited for Mariah May’s upcoming match against Anna Jay. Harley Cameron interrupts and challenges Shirakawa to a match on AEW Collision. Shirakawa agrees.

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Lio Rush

Rush shoves Strickland and slides out of the ring. As he returns, he and Strickland counter each other’s moves. Both then jump to the outside, where Strickland rams Rush into the ring apron. Strickland goes up top, but Rush jumps into the ropes, causing him to fall to the outside.

Back from break, Strickland lands a jumping uppercut. Strickland follows up with a kick, but Rush dodges the second one. Rush gets a near fall. Rush looks for a hurricanrana on the outside, but Strickland catches him. Rush Strickland escapes and then connects with a hurricanrana and a suicide dive. Rush comes down with a frog splash for another near fall. Rush looks for a stunner, but Strickland stops him. Rush lands a roundhouse enziguri. He looks for another hurricanrana but Strickland catches him and hits Big Pressure for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Post-match, Strickland says it seems that people want to make a name off of his name, but he plans to remind people whose house this is. Strickland says he’s looking for another fight tonight, against Bobby Lashley. MVP and Lashley appear on the stage. MVP says the Hurt Syndicate really like Strickland a lot because he has unrealized potential. Lashley takes off his jacket and teases a fight with Strickland. Instead, Shelton Benjamin attacks Strickland from behind. Lashley then throws him into the barricade. Benjamin and Lashley double team him in the ring as MVP holds back Prince Nana. Lashley applies a Full Nelson to Strickland to finish him off. Lashley throws Prince Nana through the ropes and to the outside.

Backstage, Jamie Hayter is about to reveal her upcoming plans, but she’s interrupted by a vignette of Julia Hart. Hart appears to be on the phone with Brody King, who tells her it’s time to come home. Hart, however, says she doesn’t know where she is right now. Hart also notes she’s been having crazy dreams.

Full Gear Contenders Series: FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. House Of Black (Brody King & Malakai Black)

Harwood and King trade chops. Wheeler tags in and punches King in the corner. King sends him flying with a back body drop, then tags in Black. Black levels Wheeler. Wheeler tags in Harwood. Harwood chops Black in the corner, but Black responds with an elbow strike. Black looks for a kick, but Harwood catches his legs. The two then dodge each other’s moves. Black rolls up Harwood for a two count. Black levels Wheeler and Harwood. He then follows Harwood to the outside, but Wheeler hits him from behind.

Back from break, King takes down both Harwood and Wheeler. King lands a belly-to-belly on Wheeler. He whips Harwood into Wheeler then drives them both into the turnbuckle with a cannonball. Wheeler and Harwood double team King with a lariat-powerbomb combo off the top rope. King connects with a knee strike to Harwood for a near fall. Mweanwhile, Black levels Wheeler on the outside. King puts Harwood in a sleeper, but Wheeler rushes in to make the save. Wheeler drives King into the corner with a drop-toe hold. Harwood suplexes King off the top. Wheeler then dives onto him from another corner. Black returns to help King. FTR push King into Black, then land a Shatter Machine on the former. Harwood goes for a cover, but Black pulls him to the outside. Black and Wheeler trade strikes on the apron.

FTR team up to land a spike-piledriver on Black onto the apron. King wipes them both out. He follows up with a lariat to Harwood in the ring for a near fall. King puts Harwood in a sleeper hold. When Harwood fades, the referee calls for the bell.

Winners: House of Black

Post-match, the teams shake hands.
