Toni Storm has announced her retirement from professional wrestling—or so she claims.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion has not returned to All Elite Wrestling since losing her title to Mariah May at All In this summer. Following that, Storm also faced losses in CMLL to La Catalina and in Stardom to Mayu Iwatani, leading to a breaking point.
During a recent interview with SB Nation, Storm said her wrestling career is over and that AEW fans will never see her again.
She said:
“I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that.”
“AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.”
“When I met Mariah May. I’d been on the top of the world for many, many years. I delivered. Then Mariah came onto the scene and everything went tits up.”
“Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”
She is currently residing in an undisclosed location.
Storm’s wrestling career comes to a close at only 29 years of age. She made her pro debut in 2015 and has gone on to win titles across the globe. She is a former World of Stardom Champion, NXT UK Women’s Champion, wXw Women’s Champion, Progress Women’s Champion, and three-time AEW Women’s World Champion.
We wish Toni Storm all the best in her totally serious retirement.
