A big main event has been announced for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens on the show, confirming a Wrestling Observer Newsletter report from last month. It will be a rematch from August’s Bash in Berlin when Rhodes defeated Owens in a match that went a little over 26 minutes.

The return of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 8/7 C on NBC and Peacock at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y., the venue of the original Saturday Night’s Main Event. The classic show is returning as a quarterly special to be held on NBC. It’s part of WWE’s new deal with NBC Universal that will also see SmackDown return to the USA Network beginning in January 2025.
No other matches have been confirmed for the show thus far.
Rhodes will aim for his seventh successful title defense to air on WWE programming in the match. He’s defended it five times on PLEs since winning the belt at WrestleMania 40 and once against Solo Sikoa on the September 13, 2024, edition of WWE SmackDown. His title defenses include two against AJ Styles, two against Solo Sikoa, one against Logan Paul, and his previous win over Owens.
