Mark Henry: Hulk Hogan Turned Down Offer To Tour Black Campuses

Mark Henry is not surprised that Hulk Hogan was booed at the Raw on Netflix premiere on Monday and says Hogan has never tried to repair the damage he caused.

Hogan has faced backlash from wrestling fans since 2015 when recorded conversations from 2006 involving him making racist comments leaked online. Henry told TMZ recently that he offered to help Hogan deal with the controversy but was turned down, as Hogan felt the situation would “blow over.”

“In the top 10 of wrestling all-time, Hogan is always going to be in that top 10, but right now, with the social climate and the things he’s said and done and his lack of effort to try and fix it, people are gonna come down on it,” Henry said.

“I never had an issue with him before I heard all of the stuff and even then, I believe in giving second chances,” he continued.

“(Hogan) never wanted to go forward and fix it, so that’s what happens when you think that everything is going to go away. It’s not going to go away.”

“(Hogan) just thinks it’s going to go away, that is not going to be that dark cloud over his career,” he added.

Henry also revealed during the interview that he offered to help Hogan by touring Black colleges and campuses to speak with young people.

“I offered to say, ‘Hey let’s do a tour of the black colleges, law schools and explain what happened.’ He didn’t want to do that,” Henry said.

Henry’s full interview with TMZ is available below:

Hogan’s appearance at the Raw on Netflix premiere was part of a sponsorship agreement to promote his Real American Beer. The brand’s logos were also featured on the Raw ring mat. Hogan is also under a WWE merchandising contract. He revealed on Logan Paul’s podcast in September that he recently signed a new five-year contract with the company.
