AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest: Toni & Mina vs. Julia & Skye, International Title Four-Way, Will Ospreay Speaks

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest emanates from Denver, Colorado! Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa take on Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Kenny Omega defends the International Championship. Will Ospreay speaks his mind, and more.

Let’s break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!

We Hear From Will Ospreay

Tony Schiavone introduces Will Ospreay. Ospreay recalls his brawl with Swerve Strickland last week. Ospreay says neither Strickland nor Adam Page is the enemy, Jon Moxley is. Ospreay reiterates the mission to get the AEW World Championship off of Moxley. Moxley says he hates what AEW has become, so Ospreay suggests he piss off. Ospreay says AEW sucks because Moxley is the world champion. Ospreay asserts that he will play a part in ensuring the world title comes back to someone else. Ospreay says he can’t let Strickland and Page destroy each other. Ospreay says if he doesn’t step in, Strickland won’t have a house. Ospreay says he loves Strickland, but he loves AEW more. Ospreay calls out Strickland for a match next week.

Action Andretti and Lio Rush come onto the stage. Rush says Ospreay is doing a lot of yapping. Rush says he has a point to prove tonight because the worst thing about AEW is Ospreay. Rush says he’ll help Rush get his anger out in a match on Collision. Ospreay adds that he’ll see Strickland next week too.

Mark Briscoe vs. Jon Moxley (w/ Wheeler Yuta & Marina Shafir)

Moxley and Briscoe lock up. Moxley bails to the outside. When he hops back on the apron, Briscoe knocks him off with a slap. Briscoe follows up with a chop and more punches. Back in the ring, Moxley fires back with an elbow and a chop. Briscoe locks in a chokehold, which Moxley fights off. Briscoe lands an uppercut and another chop. Moxley responds with a big boot. Moxley chokes Briscoe against the ropes., then whips him into the corner. Briscoe drags Moxley to the outside, then takes him down with a scissor kick. Briscoe stomps on Yuta’s hand. Moxley dodges a crossbody from Briscoe. Shafir distracts the referee, allowing Yuta to slam Briscoe into the ring post. Moxley fires off strikes on Briscoe’s head wound.

Back from break, Briscoe connects with more uppercuts and chops. He follows up with an enziguri and a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, Briscoe levels Moxley with a lariat for a two count. Briscoe and Moxley trade strikes. Moxley hits a high boot. Moxley reverses a Jay Driller into a lariat. Briscoe responds with one of his own. Moxley blocks a Froggy Bow with his boot, then transitions to a chokehold. Moxley switches to an armbar. Briscoe gets his foot on the bottom rope to break it. Yuta rams Briscoe into the steel steps as Moxley distracts the referee. Shafir rolls Briscoe back into the ring. Briscoe hits a Death Valley Driver and Jay Driller on Moxley. Moxley kicks out of his subsequent pinfall attempt. Moxley stomps Briscoe into the mat, then cinches in the bulldog chokehold. Briscoe gets to his feet and transitions into a cover. Moxley kicks out and reapplies the submission. Briscoe fades.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm vs. Julia Hart & Skye Blue

Mercedes Mone comes down to the commentary desk. Shirakawa fires off elbows on Blue, then a kick. Shirakawa drives Blue into the mat back first. Shirakawa lands a splash on Blue. Storm covers her, but Blue kicks out. Blue clocks Shirakawa in the back of the neck. She follows up with an elbow. Hart tags in and elbows Shirakawa in the corner. Hart gets Shirakawa twisted up in the ropes. Blue slams Storm into the apron, then the barricade. Mone watches on and sips her wine. Hart plants Shirakawa into the mat.

Back from break, Hart connects with a sliding lariat, which Blue follows up with a knee to Shirakawa. Storm slams Blue to the mat. Shirakawa lands a rolling elbow strike on Hart. Hart gets Shirakawa on the top turnbuckle, then climbs it herself. Shirakawa slaps her off of it and leaps off with a slingblade. Shirakawa tags in Storm. Storm dropkicks Blue, then takes her down with a Thesz Press. Shirakawa hits a back fist on Hart. Shirakawa and Storm suplex Hart and Blue, then deliver hip attacks to them in the corners. Storm locks in the TCM Chicken Wing on Blue for the win.

Winners: Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa

After the match, Storm takes a bite of Mone’s food at ringside. Mone looks on angrily.

Backstage, MJF says he’s here to help Will Ospreay. He advises Ospreay to stay out of the business between Swerve Strickland and Adam Page. MJF advises him to let Strickland and Page eat each other like animals. Ospreay says MJF would have no chance of beating Page on his best day. MJF mentions Ospreay’s stepson, which prompts Ospreay to grab his suit coat. The Hurt Syndicate surround Ospreay before he can do any further damage.

We Hear From The Hurt Syndicate

MVP says he is standing with the best tag team in the history of wrestling. He adds that Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley are megastars. MVP asks where the best tag team are to challenge Benjamin and Lashley. MVP says there is no one capable of beating Benjamin and Lashley. MVP introduces MJF. MJF reminds the people that he wants gold, specifically the AEW World Championship. MJF looks ahead to AEW Grand Slam. He says Mexico believes Mistico is the best in the world, but in reality, MJF is. MJF recalls selling out Arena Mexico last year due to his mega-stardom. MJF calls Mistico a big fish in a small pond. MJF says he will be watching Mistico next week, and if he is impressed, he may wrestle Mistico at Grand Slam.

Kevin Knight, Komander and Mike Bailey come out. Komander says if MJF disrespects Mistico, he disrespects him. Komander says everything out of MJF’s mouth is garbage. Bailey says there are a group of international killers in front of The Hurt Syndicate. MVP laughs. Knight calls out The Hurt Syndicate to a match. MVP declines for tonight, but says they could impress them and earn it.

Kevin Knight, Komander & Mike Bailey vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico, Rush & The Beast Mortos)

Each of the men take turns taking each other down. Action spills to the outside, with Bailey chopping Mortos. Meanwhile, Dralistico drives Komander into the ring post. Bailey fires off a series of kicks on Mortos. Rush sends Knight crashing into the barricade. Rush shoves Bailey to the floor. Knight rolls back into the ring. Komander sends Dralistico into the barricade. Bailey and Knight double team Rush in the ring. Komander lands a dropkick on Rush in the corner. Bailey chops Rush, then fires off more kicks. Bailey then dropkicks Rush. Rush, Dralistico, and Mortos triple dropkick Bailey. They then takes turns chopping Bailey against the ropes. Bailey is dropped onto Knight and Komander on the outside.

Back from break, Komander rocks Mortos with a hurricanrana. Dralistico hits a destroyer on Komander. Knight and Rush tag in and trade strikes. Rush kicks Knight in the corner, then gloats. Knight responds with a backbreaker. He covers Rush for a two count. Rush connects with a jumping knee. Bailey, Komander, and Knight dropkick their opponents to the outside, then wipes them out with dives. Dralistico sends Bailey to the floor. LFI triple team Komander, with Mortos hitting a Samoan Drop. Dralistico drives Komander into the mat. Knight breaks up pinfall attempt on Komander. Bailey rolls up Mortos. Dralistico breaks it up. Komander drags Dralistico to the outside. Rush dropkicks Bailey. Knight rocks Rush with a dropkick next. Mortos hits Bailey with a lariat. Bailey responds with a thrust kick. Knight lands an elbow on him as well. Komander wipes out Dralistico and Rush with a spinning dive. Knight hits a splash on Mortos for the win.

Winners: Kevin Knight, Komander, and Mike Bailey

After the match, MVP says the three get to face MJF, Lashley, and Benjamin in a trios match next week. Lashley and Benjamin enter the ring, but Bailey and Knight hit them with superkicks and dropkicks. MJF takes his coat off and enters the ring, only to be hit with a dropkick from Komander. Bailey, Komander, and Knight then wipe them out with dives. MVP looks to hit them with his walking stick, but referee Aubrey Edwards prevents him from doing so.

Backstage, Adam Cole suggests that Paragon and Daniel Garcia team up against the Don Callis family. Garcia agrees.

Elsewhere, Christian Cage says Nick Wayne had a great showing at the NJPW Super Juniors, but he didn’t win the tournament. Cage says Nick had a grueling schedule, which would have earned anybody a night off, but Nick isn’t just anybody. Cage confirms that Nick will defend his ROH Television Championship in a four way.

In the ring, Max Caster has a petition to acknowledge that he is the best wrestler alive. He hands the petition to the referee to sign. Caster urges the crowd to chant his name. Caster lays out an open challenge with a five minute time limit. Powerhouse Hobbs answers.

Max Caster vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

Hobbs delivers a shoulder tackle, then crushes Caster in the corner. Caster goes up top and leaps off, but Hobbs catches him and slams him to the mat for the win.

Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs

AEW International Title: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brody King vs. Mascara Dorada

King hammers away at Claudio with punches. King whips Omega into Claudio, then Dorada. King follows suit with a splash in the corner on him. Omega drops Claudio with a clothesline. Dorada and Omega superkick King. Claudio hits Omega in the back, then runs over Dorada. King sends Claudio over the top rope and to the outside. Omega dives onto Claudio. Dorada hits a tornado twist onto King. King launches Dorada over the barricade. Claudio boots King in the face. They then trade strikes. King rocks Claudio with a big elbow, then slams Dorada into him. King crossbodys Claudio and Dorada. Omega levels King with a Snap Dragon suplex. Omega dives onto all three of his opponents.

Back from break, Claudio shoulder checks Omega in the corner. Omega delivers a snap dragon suplex in return. King blocks Omega’s attempt as the same on him. Claudio connects with an uppercut to King. Omega kicks Claudio from behind, then hits the V-Trigger. King levels Omega, then meets Claudio up top. Omega strikes King from behind, then hoists him on the shoulders. Claudio leaps off the top with an uppercut on King. Claudio flings Dorada to the outside. Dorada returns and hits a hurricanarana on Claudio. He covers King for a two count. Omega nails Dorada with a knee strike. He then follows up with a V-Trigger to Claudio. Dorada spikes Omega with a poisonrana. King levels Dorada, then plants Claudio with a clothesline. Everyone is down.

Claudio and King reach their feet and exchange blows. They catch Dorada mid-crossbody. Dorada hits a hurricanrana on King. Claudio kicks him to the side. Claudio swings King around, then tosses Dorada out of the ring. He does the same to Omega. Omega returns to break up his pinfall attempt on King. Dorada rolls up Omega. Claudio rolls up Dorada. Dorada sands him flying across the ring with a hurricanrana. Dorada rolls up Claudio. Omega breaks it up. Claudio uppercuts Dorada. Dorada hits a shooting star press on the floor, then dives onto King on the other side of the ring. Omega catches Dorada mid-jump and plants him with a One Winged Angel for the win.

Winner (And Still): Kenny Omega

After the match, Kazuchika Okada confronts Kenny Omega. They brawl until Omega gets Okada up on his shoulders, prompting Okada to then retreat up the ramp.
