This week’s episode of WWE Raw emanates from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! We break it all down in this week’s Raw recap!
We Hear From The Vision
Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed come to the ring. Heyman recalls his history in Philly, then calls himself the GOAT. Heyman says the ring is filled with other GOATS. He introduces Breakker as the future of WrestleMania and a man who taught Roman Reigns to fear the spear. Heyman then introduces Bronson Reed as the Tribal Thief. Finally, Heyman turns to Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion. Rollins grabs a mic, but before he speaks, Jey Uso’s music hits.
Jey says he’s tired of hearing all of The Vision talking and threatening his family. Jey recalls tapping out Gunther at WrestleMania, then vows to make it worse for Rollins at Clash in Paris. Jey also calls Breakker a puppy dog. Rollins says Jey thinks he is better than Breakker and his family. Heyman invokes the names of several former ECW talents and says they would solve their issues in a match with no countouts and no disqualifications. Jey agrees to Extreme Rules.
Backstage, IYO SKY forgives Asuka for last week. Asuka and Kairi Sane offer to help SKY during her match, but SKY insists on doing the work herself.
IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez (w/ Roxanne Perez)
Raquel tosses SKY across the ring. SKY sweeps Raquel off her feet. Raquel responds with a side slam. Raquel hits SKY in the lower back, then launches her into the corner. Raquel delivers a series of elbow strikes. Raquel sits SKY atop another corner turnbuckle. SKY takes down Raquel with a hurricanrana and a dropkick. Perez distracts SKY, allowing Raquel to nail her with a big boot.
Back from break, SKY connects with a missile dropkick. Raquel catches SKY mid-bullet train and drops her to the mat. Raquel leaps off the top for a near fall next. SKY slingshots Raquel off the top tope. SKY stomps Raquel in the midsection. She goes up top for an Over The Moonsault, but Raquel rolls out of the ring. Raquel turns SKY inside out with a clothesline. SKY rolls up Raquel for a two count. SKY leaps off the top and lands a tornado DDT. Raquel rolls to the outside. SKY dives onto Perez, then Raquel. Raquel rolls through and tosses SKY into the steel ring post. SKY drives Raquel into the turnbuckle with a hurricanrana. She follows with a pair of knees, then a moonsault for the win.
Winner: IYO SKY
After the match, Perez rains down with hands on SKY. She then superkicks SKY. Raquel and Perez mock SKY. Rhea Ripley runs down and wipes out Perez. She then brawls with Raquel. SKY dropkicks Raquel. Ripley then sends her over the top rope and to the outside.
Backstage, CM Punk tells LA Knight that they need to be on the same page tonight. Knight recalls Punk meddling in his title opportunities. Punk says neither of them will get to Clash in Paris if they are not cohesive in the meantime. Knight says when they get to Paris, he will be holding up the world title.
Elsewhere, IYO SKY says it’s okay that Rhea Ripley helped her. Asuka points out that Ripley helped her when SKY told them that she and Kairi Sane couldn’t. Asuka and Ripley begin arguing. SKY yells at them to stop before storming off. Asuka tells Ripley to stay out of their business.
Xavier Woods (w/ Kofi Kingston & Grayson Waller) vs. Penta
Woods and Penta shove each other. Woods then bites Penta’s hand and backs him into a corner. Woods lays in right hands. Penta kicks him. Woods responds with one of his own, then drops Penta on the apron.
Back from break, Woods rocks Penta with a boot to the face. Penta delivers a sling blade and a back breaker. Woods rolls to the outside. Penta goes up top and descends onto Woods and Waller with a crossbody. The action returns to the ring, with Penta landing a dropkick to Woods in the corner. Woods drops Penta onto the mat with a suplex. Woods follows up with an uppercut and a chop. Woods charges in, but Penta moves out of the way.
Penta hits the Penta Driver, then covers Woods. Kingston puts Woods’ leg on the rope to break the fall. Penta dives onto Waller and Kingston. Woods rolls up Penta for a two count. Penta superkicks Woods, then follows up with a Mexican Destroyer for the win.
Winner: Penta
JD McDonagh & Finn Balor (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs. Mr. Iguana & Dragon Lee
McDonagh and Lee lock up. Balor distracts Lee, allowing McDonagh to stomp away at Lee. Lee responds with a stomp of his own. He and Lee trade chops. Lee delivers a dragonscrew in the corner. McDonagh chops Lee in the corner, then tags in Balor. Balor lays in a chop of his own. Lee sweeps Balor off his feet and kicks him. Iguana tags in and descends off the top with an axe handle. Balor runs over Iguana, then suplexes him. Balor slams Iguana into the mat. Iguana launches Balor across the ring, then dropkicks him out of it. Lee and Iguana dive onto Balor and McDonagh.
Back from break, Lee rocks McDonagh with a high knee. McDonagh responds with a poisonrana. Lee lays out McDonagh with a Liger Bomb. Iguana and Balor tag in. Iguana hits a hurricanrana on Balor. He then rocks McDonagh with an enziguiri. Iguana takes out McDonagh on the outside. Balor lands an elbow drop on Lee. McDonagh lands a springboard moonsault on Iguana on the outside. Lee rolls up Balor for a two count. Balor responds with a sling blade. Lee catches Balor with a boot to the face.
McDonagh distracts the referee. Balor drives Lee into the corner with a dropkick. He follows up with a Coup De Grace for the win.
Winners: JD McDonagh & Finn Balor
After the match, Dominik, McDonagh, and Balor attack Lee and Iguana. Dominik clears the announce table. El Hijo Del Vikingo dropkicks Dominik off of it. He then sends Balor flying with a hurricanrana. Vikingo hits a running knee and meteora on McDonagh. Dominik strikes Vikingo from behind. Balor slams Lee to the mat. Dominik lands a Frog Splash on Vikingo.
Backstage, Becky Lynch claims that she defended herself last week when Natalya shoved her. Lynch says she understands why Natalya is bitter: because she doesn’t belong in WWE or in the ring with her. Lynch says she will prove it tonight.
Women’s IC Title: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya (w/ Maxxine Dupri & Akira Tozawa)
Natalya goes right after Lynch with a headlock takedown. She rolls up Lynch for a one count. Lynch kicks off a Sharpshooter attempt. Natalya responds with a German suplex and a baseball slide. Lynch launches Natalya into the ring post. Natalya clutches her shoulder.
Back from break, Lynch locks in an armbar. Natalya counters into a roll up. Lynch returns to the arm bar. Natalya slams Lynch into the mat with a spinebuster. Natalya lands a snapmare and a boot to Lynch’s face. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter. Lynch yanks Natalya’s arm to break it. Natalya responds with a discuss clothesline. Lynch boots Maxxine on the outside. She then wipes out Tozawa with a dropkick. Lynch and Natalya trade pinfall attempts. Lynch drives Natalya’s arm into the mat before transitioning into the Dis-arm-her. Natalya taps out.
Winner (And Still): Becky Lynch
After the match, Maxxine comforts Natalya. Lynch strikes Maxxine from behind. Nikki Bella runs down to make the save. She and Lynch brawl until Nikki drops Lynch with a Rack Attack.
We Hear From Naomi
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce introduces WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi to the ring. Naomi points to the Titantron for a clip of her and Jimmy Uso appearing on What’s Your Story with Stephanie McMahon. Jimmy confirms that they have a baby on the way. Naomi says she is pregnant. Pearce congratulates Naomi. Naomi says this isn’t her first time relinquishing a title, but this time, she isn’t handing back anything. Naomi advises Pearce to get out of her face.
Naomi says the locker room should be thanking one person, and that’s Jimmy Uso. Naomi says she was about to walk the locker room like a dog all year long, but thanks to Jimmy, she won’t be. She says the Bloodline will continue. Naomi lays down her championship. She vows to come back and pick up where she left off. Naomi advises whoever carries the title to proceed with caution.
Extreme Rules: Bron Breakker (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Jey Uso
Breakker rains down with right hands in the corner. Jey sends Breakker over the top rope. He collides with a cart full of weapons. Jey retrieves a table from under the ring. Jey punches Breakker in the head. Jey dives onto Breakker through the ropes.
Back from break, Breakker slams a trash can lid onto Jey’s back. Jey whips Breakker into a chair propped up in the corner. Jey and Breakker trade strikes. Jey rocks Breakker with a big right hand. Breakker turns Jey inside out with a clothesline. Breakker sets up a pair of chairs. He drops Jey onto the chairs. Jey rolls to the outside, where Breakker follows. Breakker leaps off the apron with a trash can in hand, wiping out Jey in the process.
Back from another break, Breakker descends off the top with a Frankensteiner on Jey. Breakker runs the ropes. Jey catches him with a spear for a near fall. He then grabs a chair and slams it across Breakker’s back. Jey lands another spear. He then goes up top and hits an Uso Splash. When Jey goes for a cover, Bronson Reed pulls the referee out of the ring. Reed rains down strikes on Jey, then nails him with an Death Valley Driver. LA Knight runs down and sends Reed to the outside. He bounces Reed off the announce table, then the ring steps.
Seth Rollins rams Knight into the barricade. Rollins lays out Jey with a Pedigree. Rollins pulls the referee to his feet. CM Punk runs down and brawls with Rollins. Knight and Punk take turns striking Rollins. They take him down with double clothesline. Rollins pushes Punk into Knight, which sends Knight through a table off the apron. Punk brawls with Rollins through the crowd.
Breakker sets up a table. Jey superkicks Breakker, then sets him up on the table. Reed knocks Jey off the top. Breakker lines up for a spear on Jey. Instead, he eats one from Roman Reigns. Reigns then Superman Punches Reed. Reigns rolls Breakker back into the ring, where Jey greets him with a superkick. Jey follows up with an Uso Splash through a table for the win.
