This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from San Antonio, Texas! We break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!
World Trios Titles: The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) (c) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, MVP & Shelton Benjamin)
Benjamin and Shibata lock up. Shibata applies an arm bar, but Benjamin rolls out of it. Lashley and Joe tag in. Lashley rocks Joe with a right hand, then elbows in the corner. Lashley plants Joe with a flatliner. Benjamin is back in and leaps off the top. Joe walks out of the way. Hobbs tags in. Benjamin hits him with a heel kick. Hobbs sends Benjamin flying over the top rope. Lashley does the same to Hobbs. MVP wipes out Shibata. Joe then sends MVP to the outside. Benjamin returns with a knee strike to Joe. Hobbs plants Benjamin with a powerslam. Joe follows with a senton.
Back from break, Joe lays in right hands on Benjamin in the corner. Joe applies a headlock on Benjamin. Benjamin eventually escapes, only to eat a series of stomps. Benjamin and Joe trade strikes. Benjamin spikes Joe with a DDT. Lashley knocks Hobbs off the apron. He drives Shibata into the mat next. Hobbs breaks up his pinfall attempt. Lashley and Hobbs exchange blows, then collide with one another. Joe rakes MVP’s eyes. MVP answers with a jaw breaker, then an elbow drop.
Hobbs plants Benjamin with a spinebuster. Lashley slams Hobbs. Joe boots Lashley in the face. MVP lands another jaw breaker on Joe. Ricochet jumps up to the apron and distracts MVP. Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch. MVP taps out.
Winners (And Still): The Opps
After the match, The Hurt Syndicate chase The Demand to the back. Joe says he turned on Adam Page at WrestleDream because he exists. Joe says as long as Page is champion, he will hunt him down and show him that he is not that man. Joe says he will make Page his b*tch.
Backstage, Kris Statlander points out that she’s beaten Toni Storm twice and won the AEW Women’s Championship, whereas Mercedes Mone has not. She asserts that she has also grown since the last time they met last year.
We Hear From Darby Allin
Allin says people called him irresponsible before he climbed Mt. Everest. They also said he couldn’t be the face of AEW. Allin says he is willing to go places for AEW that no one else is willing to go. Allin proclaims that he would die for AEW. Allin says he was never going to quit at WrestleDream, but he is wearing the scars from it. Allin says as long as the Death Riders are breathing, he won’t be far behind.
Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata vs. Top Gods (Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford) vs. Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale vs. Sisters Of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue)
Nightingale and Blue trade high boots. Nightingale launches Blue across the ring. Cameron elbows Blue in the corner. Nightingale follows with a splash. Nightingale slams Cameron onto Blue. Blue dodges an enziguiri from Cameron, then rocks her with a thrust kick. Ford blind tags herself in. Cameron knees her in the midsection. Ford shoulders Cameron in the corner. Bayne follows with more shoulders. Nightingale saves Cameron from being double teamed. Ford dumps Nightingale to the outside. Cameron tags in Hayter.
Hayter and Bayne trade strikes. Hayter nails Bayne with a high boot. Hayter follows with a lariat in the corner. Bayne suplexes both Hayter and Aminata. Bayne wipes out a sea of women on the outside with a dive.
Back from break, Nightingale crushes Hart and Blue with a hip attack in the corner. She delivers a spinebuster to Blue next. Cameron rocks Blue with an enziguiri. Bayne runs over Nightingale with a lariat. Bayne backs Cameron into the corner. Bayne launches Ford into Nightingale for an assisted cutter. Nightingale pushes Bayne into Ford, knocking the latter off the turnbuckle. Hayter blind tags herself in. Nightingale shoves Bayne to the outside. Hayter and Aminata run over Nightingale with a double back elbow. They follow with high boots to Ford. Aminata headbutts Ford. Hayter then finishes her off with a Hayterade.
Winners: Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata
After the match, Hayter and Aminata select Hart and Blue as their first round opponents in the tag title tournament.
We Hear From Mercedes Mone
Harley Cameron’s puppet of Mone appears in the ring and introduces the real Mone for her celebration. Puppet Mone calls for the fans to do The CEO dance. The real Mone heads to the ring. Mone takes issue with the fans mocking her. Cameron then mocks Mone’s voice. Mone calls out Cameron for disrespecting her and asks if she’s desperate for attention. Mone says this is her moment. Mone says she will be talked about for years. She smashes Puppet Mone into the cake placed on the table. Cameron emerges from under the table. Mone grabs her by the hair until a hooded figure sends Mone crashing into the cake as well. It is revealed to be Kris Statlander. Statlander slams Mone through the table next.
Jon Moxley (w/ Marina Shafir) vs. Kyle O’Reilly
O’Reilly attempts a knee bar, but Moxley backs himself into the ropes to break it. O’Reilly and Moxley lock up. O’Reilly lands a series of knees. Moxley ducks one of his kicks. Moxley and O’Reilly take turns locking in submission holds. Moxley fires off chops. O’Reilly answers with right hands and kicks. Moxley shoves O’Reilly to the outside.
Back from break, O’Reilly dropkicks Moxley while he sits on a chair. O’Reilly follows with knee strikes. O’Reilly elbows Moxley in the corner, then locks in a triangle submission. Moxley catapults O’Reilly into the bottom rope. O’Reilly and Moxley trade strikes on the apron. O’Reilly yanks Moxley’s arm, causing him to collide with the apron. O’Reilly leaps off the top with a knee drop. He then applies an ankle lock. O’Reilly follows with a running knee.
O’Reilly locks in a cross armbreaker. Moxley rolls through the break it and nails O’Reilly with a lariat. Moxley plants O’Reilly with a piledriver. Moxley cinches in the bulldog choke. O’Reilly reaches the bottom rope with his foot to break it. O’Reilly dodges a stomp and connects with a rolling elbow. O’Reilly cinches in the ankle lock again. Moxley grabs the referee by his shirt then elbows him. Multiple referees run down to the ring, then call for the bell.
Winner (by DQ): Kyle O’Reilly
The Death Riders and The Conglomeration head to the ring next. A brawl ensues. AEW officials separate the two factions.
The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy) & Roderick Strong vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta)
Yuta knees Cassidy in the arm. Cassidy launches Yuta across the ring with an arm drag. Cassidy and Yuta trade roll-up attempts. Yuta dodges an Orange Punch. Gacia tags in, as does Briscoe. Briscoe and Garcia trade strikes. Briscoe dropkicks Garcia. Strong tags in and chops Garcia. Garcia tags in Claudio. Claudio uppercuts Strong in the corner. Strong responds with a dropkick and a chop. Claudio pushes Strong into the corner. Strong delivers a backbreaker to Garcia. Claudio uppercuts Strong out of the ring. Strong slams Yuta onto the top of the barricade. Claudio catches Strong mid-dropkick, though Strong follows with a successful one. Yuta yanks Strong off the apron. Claudio drops Strong onto the barricade.
Back from break, Cassidy dropkicks Yuta and Garcia. Claudio chops him in the chest. Cassidy connects with a Stun Dog Millionaire. Cassidy wipes out Garica with a dive to the floor. Briscoe fires off uppercuts on Claudio and Yuta. Briscoe chops Yuta, then drags him to the outside. Briscoe lands a moonsault on all three opponents. Briscoe drops Yuta with a Fisherman buster for a near fall.
Strong rocks Garcia with a running kick. Claudio drives Strong into the mat. Cassidy leaps off the top, but is caught by Claudio. Claudio follows with an uppercut. Briscoe charges in with a boot. Yuta suplexes Briscoe. Garcia and Claudio run in with strikes on Briscoe in the corner. Yuta lands a running knee. Strong breaks up his pinfall attempt. Briscoe delivers a lariat and Jay-Driller for the win.
Winners: The Conglomeration & Roderick Strong
After the match, Pac stomps away at Briscoe. Tomohiro Ishii rips Pac off of him and lays in elbows. Marina Shafir nails Ishii with a low blow. O’Reilly takes down Moxley. Claudio and Shafir drag him off of Moxley. The Death Riders clear the commentary table while Claudio hoists up Cassidy. Darby Allin hits Claudio with a bat. Cassidy rocks him with an Orange Punch next.
Backstage, Athena pitches an alliance between herself and Mercedes Mone so they can pursue the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships. Mone agrees.
In the ring, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis celebrate the former’s successful TNT Championship defense at WrestleDream. Fletcher says his business is done with Mark Briscoe. Fletcher promises to be champion for a very long time. Briscoe’s music hits. Briscoe asks for one more title shot. Callis says Briscoe sounds desperate. He suggests that Briscoe get a family like the Don Callis Family instead of one that is like blood sucking leeches. Callis declines Briscoe’s challenge on behalf of Fletcher.
AEW reveals the brackets for the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament. Mina Shirakawa appears backstage. She says she and her tag team partner Toni Storm love to fight and will win the tag titles. Thekla interrupts. Shirakawa offers to fight Thekla on Collision. Thekla accepts.
AEW Unified Title: Kazuchika Okada (w/ Don Callis) (c) vs. Bandido
Okada runs over Bandido with a shoulder check. Bandido and Okada counter each other’s moves. Bandido delivers a hurricanrana. Okada rolls to the outside. Bandido follows and eats a kick from Okada. Okada elbows Bandido in the back. Bandido sends Okada flying across the floor with an arm drag.
Back from break, Bandido stuns Okada with a dropkick. Bandido leaps off the top with a Frog Splash for a near fall. Okada slingshots Bandido’s arm off the top rope. Okada kicks Bandido in the shoulder. Okada follows with a shoulder breaker. Bandido rolls to the outside to recover. Okada eventually rolls him back in. Bandido lands a spinning backfist and a knee. Bandido follows with a German suplex. Okada kicks out of his pinfall attempt. Bandido sends Okada flying into the turnbuckle with a hurricanrana. Okada answers with a dropkick. Bandido rolls up Okada for a near fall.
Bandido chops Okada in the corner. Bandido charges in, only to meet Okada’s boots. Bandido connects with a Rainmaker. He follows with a knee to Okada’s jaw. Okada answers with a Rainmaker of his own for the win.

Post-match, The Don Callis Family celebrates. Konosuke Takeshita comes out and stares down Okada.
