This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from Boston, Massachusetts! We break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!
Casino Gauntlet #1 Spot: Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP & Shelton Benjamin) vs. Ricochet (w/ GOA)
Before the bell rings, Lashley tosses Ricochet to the outside. Lashley then sends him crashing into the barricade. He runs over Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona as well. When Ricochet returns to the ring, he rolls up Lashley for a two count. Ricochet follows with a high knee strike and an enziguiri. He lands a standing shooting star press, then a moonsault for another near fall.
Ricochet leaps off the top, but Lashley sees him coming and rolls out of the way. Lashley charges toward Ricochet, only for Ricochet to pull the referee in the way. Lashley stops and eats a knee to the face. Ricochet lines up for a Spirit Gun. Lashley intercepts it and chokeslams him. He follows with a spear for the win.

Backstage, Samoa Joe says Adam Page’s world of happiness is about to get very different. Joe adds that Page is guilty of crimes against The Opps and his punishment will be facing Katsuyori Shibata.
Elsewhere, Don Callis reveals that he’s arranged a special entrance for The Young Bucks. He then introduces them ahead of their trios match.
The Young Bucks & Josh Alexander (w/ Don Callis) vs. Scorpio Sky & Top Flight (w/ Leila Grey and Christopher Daniels)
Nick Jackson and Dante Martin lock up. Nick knocks Dante down with a shoulder. He follows with an arm drag. Dante connects with a kick to Nick’s face, then catches a superkick attempt. Nick and Dante trade dropkicks. Alexander tags in, as does Darius Martin. Alexander runs over Darius with a shoulder. He slams him to the mat next. Darius answers with a dropkick. Dante tags in and clotheslines Alexander in the corner. Dante, Darius, and Sky take turns landing moves on Alexander. Darius delivers an Atomic Drop to Matt Jackson. Sky launches Matt to the outside. Nick superkicks Darius, then rocks Sky with a facebuster. Nick wipes out Darius with a moonsault, only to leveled with a dive from Dante. Nick dropkicks Dante through the ropes. Sky dropkicks Matt as well. Alexander nails Sky with a running crossbody to the outside.
Back from break, Matt and Nick superkick Darius and Dante. Dante evades a BTE Trigger and causes Nick and Matt to headbutt each other. Dante then wipes them out with a dive to the outside. He leaps onto Alexander as well for a near fall. Alexander applies an ankle lock. Dante rolls through and sends Alexander to the outside. Matt and Nick drive Dante into the mat with an assisted piledriver. Alexander cinches in an ankle lock. Dante taps out.
Winners: The Young Bucks & Josh Alexander
After the match, Rocky Romero, Hechicero, and Mark Davis join Don Callis and The Young Bucks in the ring. Callis says it’s in The Young Bucks best interest to join DCF. He reminds them that AEW can be a dangerous place and walking around without family can cause bad stuff to happen to them. Callis says he’d hate to see anything happen to The Bucks like it did to Kenny Omega.
Omega’s music hits. He comes down with a chair and hits Romero with it. Omega then throws the chair at Davis. Omega and Alexander trade strikes in the ring, with Omega beating Alexander down. Matt and Nick yank Omega off of Alexander. Alexander strikes Omega’s leg from behind, then cinches in an ankle lock. Callis orders Alexander to release the hold. He tells Matt and Nick to deliver a BTE Trigger to Omega.
Alexander stomps Omega once more. Matt and Nick set up for the BTE Trigger, but before they can land it, Jurassic Express run down. Jack Perry is equip with a snow shovel, while Luchasaurus has a vacuum cleaner. DCF and The Young Bucks retreat.
Casino Gauntlet #2 Spot: Shelton Benjamin (w/ MVP) vs. Mike Bailey
Benjamin and Bailey shake hands. Benjamin and Bailey lock up. Bailey fires off kicks in the corner. Benjamin launches Bailey to the outside. Bailey shoves Benjamin into the ring post, then lands another set of kicks. Benjamin rams Bailey into the barricade. Bailey stacked up Benjamin for a two count, then trips him up. He rolls into another near fall. Bailey follows with an arm bar. Benjamin escapes and cinches in an ankle lock. Bailey rolls through it and sends Benjamin to the apron. He boots him off of it and follows with a dive. Benjamin catches Bailey and slams him to the floor.
Back from break, Bailey fires off kicks and slaps. He locks in another arm bar. Benjamin escapes it again, though he and Bailey go flying over the top rope to the floor. Bailey sends Benjamin crashing into the barricade via a hurricanrana. Bailey follows up with a DDT on the floor. When they return to the ring, Bailey superkicks Benjamin. Bailey leaps off the top rope and connects with a Shooting Star Press for a near fall.
Bailey nails Benjamin with a standing moonsault. He goes for another arm bar. Benjamin breaks out of it and drives Bailey into the mat. Benjamin turns Bailey inside out, then covers him. The referee stops the count when he sees Bailey’s shoulder raised. Benjamin suplexes Bailey. He finishes him off with a knee strike and superkick for the win.

Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley) vs. Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong
Claudio and Strong trade strikes in the ring, while Cassidy beats down Moxley on the outside. Claudio chops Strong in the corner. Strong answers with a chop of his own. Moxley blasts Cassidy with an elbow. Strong connects with a dropkick to Claudio. He then chops Moxley on the outside. Claudio chops Strong in return. Moxley launches Cassidy into the barricade.
The action returns to the ring with Moxley and Claudio double teaming Strong. Cassidy reenters the ring and misses a dropkick on Claudio and Moxley. Strong lays in strikes on his opponents. Moxley hits the back of Strong’s leg. Claudio fires off stomps. Strong and Moxley trade chops until Moxley runs him over with a clothesline. Cassidy spikes Moxley with a tornado DDT. Claudio throws Cassidy to the outside, though he recovers and tags himself in. Cassidy rocks Claudio with a Stun Dog Millionaire. Claudio catches him mid-dive and throws him into the barricade. He follows with an uppercut. Strong blasts Claudio with a knee. Moxley boots Strong into the crowd. Cassidy drops himself onto Moxley and Claudio.
Back from break, Strong catches Moxley with a kick and a clothesline. He then dropkicks Claudio through the ropes. Strong kicks Moxley again, then lays in chops against the ropes. Strong nails him with elbows as well before slamming him into the mat. Strong powerbombs Moxley for a near fall. He transitions into an half crab submission. Daniel Garcia distracts Strong, causing him to release the hold. Moxley plants Strong with a DDT. Cassidy breaks up Moxley’s pinfall attempt, only to be dumped to the outside by Claudio. Strong shoves Claudio into Moxley, then suplexes the former.
Cassidy tags in and blasts Garcia with an Orange Punch. He follows with one to Moxley. When he tries a third on Wheeler Yuta, Yuta hops off the apron. Cassidy chases him around the ring. When he returns, Claudio hits him a pop-up uppercut. Moxley cinches in the bulldog choke on Cassidy. Cassidy fades.
Winners: Death Riders
After the match, Kyle O’Reilly runs down and puts Moxley in the ankle lock. Strong blasts Claudio with a knee. Yuta sends Strong to the outside, then fires off kicks on O’Reilly. O’Reilly keeps his hold on Moxley intact as Garcia and Yuta land more stomps on him. Cassidy tosses out Garcia, while Strong tosses out Yuta. The Death Riders drag Moxley to safety. O’Reilly challenges Moxley to a No Holds Barred match at Full Gear.
Backstage, Brody King says FTR haven’t proven that they can beat him and Bandido. King adds that they he and Bandido will leave Full Gear with their tag titles still in hand.
AEW Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament First Round: Timeless Love Bombs (Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm) vs. Alex Windsor & Riho
Shirakawa and Riho lock up. Shirakawa lands a dropkick. Riho and Shirakawa trade quick covers. Windsor and Storm tag in and engage in a test of strength. Storm cinches in a headlock. Windsor responds with an arm drag and a back elbow. Riho nails Storm and Shirakawa with double boots with leverage from Windsor. Windsor splashes Storm in the corner. Riho follows with a running forearm. Storm finally hits a backbreaker. She follows with a basement dropkick. Shirakawa lands a spinning press for a two count. Riho dropkicks Shirakawa to the outside. She and Windsor double suplex Storm as well. Riho wipes them both out with a crossbody.
Back from break, Shirakawa rocks Riho with a spinning back fist. She locks in a Figure Four. Riho reverses their momentum while still in the hold. Storm and Windsor take turns flipping them. Storm and Windsor headbutt each other, with their fall breaking up the submission. Shirakawa and Riho trade strikes. Riho lands a snap suplex for a near fall. Shirakawa rocks him with a right hand. Storm and Windsor tag in. Windsor delivers a back body drop. Windsor goes for the Sharpshooter, but Storm kicks her away. Shirakawa kicks Windsor, allowing Storm to follow with a German suplex. They do the same to Riho but in reverse. Storm and Shirakawa land hip attacks on Windsor and Riho. Storm finishes off Windsor with a Storm Zero for the win.
Winners: Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm
After the match, the competitors shake hands out of respect.
Backstage, Mark Briscoe tells Kyle Fletcher not to talk to him about family because he always fights for his own family. Kazuchika Okada and Hechicero attack Briscoe from behind. Don Callis tells Briscoe he will make his kids orphans.
Samoa Joe heads to the commentary desk for the next match.
Adam Page vs. Katsuyori Shibata
Page attacks Shibata from behind before the bell rings. He launches Shibata into the barricade, then over it. Page chokes Shibata with his jacket, then bounces him off the commentary desk as Joe watches. Shibata boots Page off the apron when the bell rings. Shibata then tosses Page into the barricade. Shibata sets up a chair on the floor. Page blasts him with a forearm, then a boot.
The action returns to the ring, with Page stomping away at Shibata in the corner. Shibata answers with a boot and right hands. Page delivers a back breaker. Shibata dumps Page to the outside, where he follows with a suplex.
Back from break, Shibata drives Page into the mat. Page catches Shibata’s boot, though Shibata eventually blasts him with it in the corner. Shibata uppercuts Page before stomping at him. Page dodges a stomp, then counters a German suplex. Shibata almost shoves Page into the referee, then low blows him. Shibata cinches in an arm bar. When Page reaches the bottom rope, Shibata shifts to an ankle lock. Page escapes and hits the Buckshot Lariat for the win.
