Yesterday we got the opportunity to preview Cheat Day Land in LA’s Arts District. Cheat Day Land is a pop up museum that celebrates the best day in our diet’s, CHEAT DAY! The immersive experience opens on Oct 1st and features 15 rooms of cheat meal-themed rooms stocked with larger-than-life food art. It is a fun place for all as guests are encourage to take selfies with makeshift ice cream cones, donut holes, and there’s even a mechanical hot dog for your riding pleasure equipped with a cowboy hat. Founder, Rubi Rymenmy took a trip to Japan and was inspired by many of their interactive museums that she saw. Her family owns Art Flying Aerial in Lomita, California and has adopted a clean eating regimen. She decided to marry the two ideas together and partnered with local artists to bring her vision to life. “I created Cheat Day land as a place where kids can have fun and where adults can have fun, Cheat Day Land is a family affair.”
We snagged an interview with the event’s host Leia Sergakis:

The red carpet and after party featured local sponsors including The Mayfair Hotel, Caffé Monster, and Trust Me Vodka (a little birdy told us they’re the same folks behind the design of the Coachella Music Festival)
Our reporter, Tahyira, went live on Instagram whilst going through the pop up — watch below:
