Wrestlemania 35 was held at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey in front of a sold-out crowd of 82,265 fans and millions watching around the world. The night featured seventeen matches, including the return of John Cena, a cameo by Hulk Hogan, and Kurt Angle’s retirement.
A lot happened during the show, but here is our list of the TOP 5 moments during Wrestlemania 35.
5. The return of the “Doctor of Thuganomics”, John Cena.
John Cena interrupted the trio musical performance of Elias. He then did a hilarious rap, and attacked Elias. The crowd loved that Cena came out, as his debut gimmick of the “Doctor of Thuganomics.”
4. Kurt Angle’s Retirement.
Even though many fans were not thrilled that Kurt Angle was having his retirement match against Baron Corbin and lost, Kurt’s entrance and his post-match moment with the crowd chanting “You Suck” along with his music was a tear-jerking moment.
3. The insane moment when The Miz suplexed Shane McMahon off a scaffold rig onto a black platform near the production area during their match .
Everyone knows that when Shane McMahon is in a ring, he is bound to do something crazy. ESPECIALLY during Wrestlemania. And the suplex off the top of the scaffold was CRAZY! This was an unforgettable moment during the show.
2. Kofi Kingston defeating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship.
Since his main event match in the Elimination Chamber, the crowd has been behind Kofi Kingston. The crowd’s excitement and support, led the way into his match at Wrestlemania. This was in my opinion the best match on the show, and the coolest ending.
1. Becky Lynch winning both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships in the main event at Wrestlemania.
Going into this match was already historic, for the simple fact that this was the first-ever Women’s main event at Wrestlemania. Each woman in this match worked super hard to earn this spot and was the most anticipated match of the evening. Many hoped that “The Man” Becky Lynch would become victorious at the end of the night and she did.
