Toni Storm says she’s received guidance, as well as some other things, from wrestling legend Stan Hansen.
Storm will challenge Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Stardom Nagoya Golden Fight on Saturday, October 5. At a press conference to promote the match on Tuesday, Storm revealed she was once romantically involved with Hansen and that he shared with her some advice about wrestling as a foreigner in Japan. Also, according to Storm, Hansen then performed a variation of his finishing move on her.
Storm said:
“I once had a three-month love affair with Stan Hansen, and on our last night together – as my back was dribbling with what turned out to be chewing tobacco – he turned to me and he gave me some advice. He said, ‘When you’re in Japan you’re a foreigner but when they step into the ring with you, they are in your country. And then he gave me a lariat, but not with his arm.”
Storm then turned her attention to Iwatani:
“Mayu Iwatani, you are stepping into my country but your visa is about to expire. I will leave you the same way I did five years ago, questioning your life choices. Godzilla doesn’t have my thighs, Mothra doesn’t have my flaps, and when I am IWGP Women’s Champion, Japan will crumble at my feet!”
“So, Mayu san, chin up, tits out, and watch for the shoe,” Storm added.
Her comments can be heard in the video Stardom posted below:
Storm’s return to Stardom coincides with her losing the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at AEW All In. She was seen dancing her way out of Wembley Stadium after and hasn’t been back in the company since. Storm is also booked to make her CMLL debut on October 11. There’s no timetable for her return to AEW.
Storm also appears to have lost all memory of May. This was revealed during an interesting backstage segment between Storm and Shirakawa on Stardom’s show in Korakuen Hall this weekend.
