An update is available regarding Bobby Lashley’s status with All Elite Wrestling.
Many fans speculated that Lashley’s AEW debut might happen at WrestleDream on Saturday, particularly during the in-ring segment involving Swerve Strickland, Prince Nana, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. However, AEW decided against having him debut on the show.
According to a report from Fightul Select, Lashley has signed with AEW and is expected to appear soon. However, the decision for him not to debut at WrestleDream was due to the feeling that Swerve needs to be laid out by Lashley in their first segment together, and AEW didn’t want to do that to Swerve in his hometown considering what was going to happen to another hometown guy, Bryan Danielson, later in the main event.
Lashley is still expected to debut alongside Benjamin and MVP in a revamped faction similar to The Hurt Business in WWE.
Another former Lashley associate, Lio Rush, recently signed his second contract with AEW. In a digital exclusive AEW released on Sunday, Rush was confronted by MVP and Benjamin and it appears a match between Benjamin and Rush may have been set up for this week’s Dynamite.
