Jim Ross had some interesting comments about Mercedes Mone recently on his Grillin JR podcast.
Mone officially debuted for AEW at Big Business on March 13, 2024. She quickly became the TBS Champion and has picked up wins over Britt Baker, Willow Nightingale, Hikaru Shida, and more. However, JR says he hasn’t felt Mone connect yet, although the legendary commentator recognizes her popularity.
JR said:
“Mercedes Mone, I still haven’t felt her yet, I still haven’t felt her connection yet. I know that she’s got a lot of popularity. I know that people around the world know who she is, but I haven’t felt it. Sometimes I think she’s a cool babyface and sometimes I think she’s a cool heel, but she’s pretty cool nonetheless.”
Mone is scheduled to wrestle Queen Aminata on this week’s edition of Dynamite. Should she win on Wednesday her AEW record will improve to a perfect 10-0.
AEW Dynamite this week will air live from the SAP Center in San Jose. Christian Cage vs. Jay White and Lio Rush vs. Shelton Benjamin are also scheduled for the show.
