A spokesperson representing Janel Grant has responded to reports that Vince McMahon is looking to launch a new company.
PWInsider reported on Tuesday that McMahon aims to launch an entertainment company to fund, develop, and produce movie and television projects. The company is not expected to develop wrestling content or compete with WWE.
In response, Grant’s spokesperson, Kendra Barkoff Lamy, says that “no one who cares about survivors and justice” should want to work for any company run by McMahon.
“Both on and off the camera, Vince McMahon has built a reputation for his violent outbursts, sexual deviance, manipulation, and abuse. No one who cares about survivors and justice should want to work for or with any company of McMahon’s. He needs to be held accountable for the heinous acts he committed against Janel Grant and others at WWE.”
According to Grant’s PR team, WWE has not waived the NDAs of former employees that would allow other possible victims of McMahon’s to come forward. They publicly called on the company to do so earlier this month.
“If WWE and its parent company Endeavor are serious about parting ways with Vince McMahon and the toxic workplace culture he created, their executives should have no problem with releasing former WWE employees from their NDAs,” said Ann Callis, Grant’s attorney. “This is the first step to rehabilitating a company that covered up decades of sexual assault and human trafficking.”
The WWE Survivors account on X has been tagging WWE sponsors in posts about the issue. They sent the following to Logan Paul’s PRIME earlier this week:
Grant’s team has also called out WWE for not displaying a sexual harassment policy on its website. Lamy released a statement on the issue:
“WWE has a responsibility to protect its own employees. Yet, time and time again, WWE and their executives have been sued for sexual misconduct and toxic workplace culture, including by Janel Grant, who endured years of sexual abuse at the hands of founder and former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, WWE executive John Laurinaitis, and the WWE organization. Today, there are no visible sexual harassment or workplace conduct policies provided on the WWE website. In addition, they still haven’t waived former employee’s NDAs to speak freely about their experiences. WWE claims to be better, they need to prove it.”
