CM Punk might be dealing with an itchy and irritated scalp today, as he had to end his shower early yesterday to rescue Damian Priest from an attack.
WWE held its annual holiday show at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, and the main event saw Priest challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight title in a steel cage. Gunther retained, but after the match, Priest was attacked by Dominik Mysterio and Ludwig Kaiser.
Punk had defeated Kaiser earlier on the show and, evidently, learned of the attack on Priest while in the shower, although we’re not quite sure how. Perhaps someone else ran in to tell him what was happening, or maybe he was following the events through a waterproof Bluetooth speaker. We can’t be sure which. Regardless, Punk raced out of the shower and hit the ring while still only in a towel and wearing a shower cap. He fought with Kaiser and Mysterio until Priest could recover and take them both out.

This is the second straight year that Punk has been able to punch Dominik over the holidays. Punk’s first match back in WWE since the 2014 Royal Rumble was against Dominik at last year’s Madison Square Garden show on December 26, 2023.
