WWE Stars Pay Tribute To Families of Brodie Lee & Bray Wyatt After SmackDown

An emotional moment occurred after WWE SmackDown went off the air last night.

The families of Bray Wyatt and Brodie Lee (AKA Luke Harper in WWE) were seated ringside at Amalie Arena in Tampa as the night was nearing an end. Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso had cleared the ring as SmackDown went off the air.

Zayn cut a promo about Tampa being a great wrestling town and WWE’s history in the area. Uso then announced that Lee and Wyatt’s families were in the crowd.

Strowman picked up Wyatt’s son Knash from JoJo Offerman at ringside and carried him into the ring before saying:

“I’ve had an unbelievably rough couple of last years, and I thought my career was over with my neck injury. I’ve lost two of my best friends in this industry in the last four years. And what keeps me moving and doing this every night are these kids, and every single one of y’all give me the strength to push through this unbelievable pain that I’m in, because I freaking love them. I love them, and I love every single one of y’all.”

Uso then brought Lee’s sons Nolan and Brodie (AKA The Dark Order’s Negative One in AEW) into the ring, and they closed the show by leading the crowd in “Yeet” chants.

Brodie trains with TJ Wilson and Natalya Neidhart in their Florida-based Dungeon 2.0. Both have praised his development thus far, with Natalya saying he’s “our youngest Dungeon family member who picks up wrestling faster than anyone I’ve ever seen.”

Brodie Lee passed away at the age of 41 on December 26, 2020, due to a rare lung condition. Wyatt passed at the age of 36 on August 24, 2023, due to a heart attack after developing heart complications from a bad case of COVID-19 earlier that year.
