AEW Dynamite July 30, 2025: AEW World Title On The Line, Briscoe vs. Ricochet, AEW Tag Tourney

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from Chicago, Illinois! Adam Page defends the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley. Mark Briscoe faces Ricochet in the main event. The Outrunners takes on The Young Bucks, and more.

Let’s break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)

Magnum and Floyd deliver double back body drops to Nick and Matt. They then rains down right hands in the corner. Magnum and Floyd follow up with Atomic Drops. Matt and Nick slam them head first into the apron, then wipe them out with suicide dives through the ropes. Nick and Matt drop Floyd with a pair of elbows. Matt tags in Nick, who looks to suplex Magnum, but fails to do so. Floyd drops both Matt and Nick on the mat. Magnum tags in. Matt and Nick double team Magnum in the corner with an enziguiri and cannonball-combo. Floyd eats a superkick at ringside from Matt. Nick wipes out Floyd with a dive off the top.

Back from break, Matt yanks Floyd off the apron to prevent a tag. Nick superkicks Magnum, then rocks Floyd with a kick as well. Matt follows up with a cutter to Floyd. Nick and Matt hit Risky Business on Magnum. Magnum tags in Floyd. Floyd wipes out both Nick and Matt with clotheslines. He then lands elbows in the corners. Floyd nails Matt with a Northern Lights Bomb. Nick superkicks Magnum. Floyd hits a double clothesline. Matt and Nick takes turns superkicking Magnum and Floyd. Floyd wipes out both Matt and Nick.

Magnum and Floyd connect with a double elbow on Matt. Nick sends Floyd to the outside. Matt hits a moosnault on Floyd next Nick rocks Magnum with a knee. Magnum rolls up Matt for a two count. Matt hits a low blow, then pushes the referee. The referee pushes him back, allowing Magnum to gain a two count fall. Nick accidently superkicks Matt. Magnum sends Nick to the outside. Magnum and Floyd land the Total Recall on Matt. Nick breaks up their pinfall attempt. Matt pushes Floyd into Mangum, then rolls up the former for a two count. Nick hits an enziguiri on Floyd. Matt and Nick follow up with a TK Driver for the win.

Winners: The Young Bucks

After the match, Kazuchika Okada makes his way down to the ring. Okada, Matt, and Nick triple team Floyd and Magnum. Swerve Strickland’s music hits, with he and Prince Nana marching down to the ring. Floyd and Magnum dump Matt and Nick out of the ring. This leaves Okada to suffer a three on one attack at the hands of Strickland, Magnum, and Floyd. Matt and Nick drag Okada to the outside before Strickland can hit a House Call. Strickland leaps off the top and wipes out all three with a stomp.

Backstage, Mark Briscoe forewarns Ricochet ahead of their singles match. Briscoe says he will whoop Ricochet’s ass tonight, but it’s just a fraction of what he’ll show MJF. Ricochet calls Briscoe a loser.

Elsewhere, MJF approaches the Hurt Syndicate locker room. MJF says he, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP can move forward now. Benjamin tells MJF that MVP isn’t here because he is disgusted with him. Benjamin says the only reason MJF even joined them is because MVP stuck his neck out for him. Benjamin throws’ MJF’s cheap watch at him, then says MJF is out of the group.

We Hear From Christian Cage

Tony Schiavone introduces Christian Cage. Cage makes his way to the ring. Cage says he’s been an asshole that is numb to the world and everyone in it. Cage says he was obsessed with becoming AEW World Champion. Cage was ready to fulfill his destiny at AEW Revolution, but then he caught a glimpse of his past. Cage says he became an asshole with feelings for a moment, and that cost him the opportunity. Cage says he’s surprised Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian stood up to him. He says that haven’t earned the right to question him, though.

Cage says he has spent more money in this business than Nick and Kip have made in their entire careers. Cage says he took a risk, then asks what Nick, Kip, and Mama Wayne would know about taking risks. Cage says there’s probably people looking to hurt him for what he’s done. Cage heard what Adam Copeland said a few weeks ago. Cage then asks if the things he previously said were really that bad. Cage points out that Copeland was an opportunist and did things to get to the top in the past too. Cage says Copeland’s head rests pretty on his king bed. Cage says he may or not have found himself. He adds that he and Copeland are both the same and different.

Cage addresses The Patriarchy. Cage says the things he said and did to them came from the scars of his past, whereas their actions came from entitlement. Cage questions what happens when Nick has to answer for the things he’s done. Cage admits that Nick has more talent than him and he cared about him. Cage then questions Nick’s claim to calling himself the face of AEW, while adding that Nick will have to get through Cage to do it. Cage disowns Nick and Kip. As Cage heads up the ramp, he is ambushed Nick and Kip. Nick says he disowns Cage. They both grabs chairs and whack Cage’s head. Nick says he turned his back on Cage.

Backstage, The Young Bucks and FTR shake hands and agree to see each other in the finals of the tag tournament.

AEW World Title (Everyone Banned From Ringside): Adam Page (c) vs. Jon Moxley

Moxley and Page lock up, then exchange chops. Moxley whips Page into the corner. Page cinches in an elevated headlock. Page sends Moxley over the barricade. Back in the ring, Page hits a sliding lariat, then connects with a chop. Moxley suplexes Page across the ring. He rains down with right hands in the corner. Moxley slams Page to the mat. They trade more chops. Moxley German suplexes Page then clothesline him in the corner. Page levels him with a lariat, then sweeps him off his feet. Page lands a crossbody to the outside. They return to the ring, where Page drives Moxley into the mat. Moxley elbows Page in the neck.

Moxley lands a sitout powerbomb. Moxley rolls to the outside, then thumbs Page in the eye. Moxley spikes Page with a piledrive on the steel steps.

Back from break, Moxley lays in a series of roundkicks. Page intercepts his boot. The two then trade strikes. Page lands a back suplex and a clothesline. Moxley knocks Page to the outside. Moxley clears the announce desk and looks for a piledriver, but Page counters into a Dead Eye. The action returns to the ring with Page covering Moxley for a two count. Page hits a back elbow and follows up with a piledriver. He then rains down right hands. Moxley locks in the bulldog choke. Page escapes it and locks in a crossface. Moxley crawls to the bottom rope, where he extends his foot to break the hold.

Page and Moxley move to the apron. Moxley spikes Page with a piledriver on it. Page connects with a left hook. Moxley returns the favor. They exchange more blows. Page rocks Moxley with a high boot. He then wipes him out with a moonsault off the top. Moxley counters a Buckshot Lariat, though Page still hits a Dead Eye. In doing so, the referee gets struck by Moxley’s leg. Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli distract the security guards. Marina Shafir hands the world title belt to Moxley. Moxley strikes Page with it for a near fall. The referee ejects Shafir from ringside. She, Claudio and Yuta are escorted out through the crowd. Darby Allin leaps off a balcony and wipes them out. Back in the ring, Page hits a Buckshot Lariat. Moxley cinches in the bulldog choke, Page escapes and executes another Dead Eye. He follows up with another Buckshot Lariat for the win.

Winner: Adam Page

Athena & Billie Starkz vs. Alex Windsor & Toni Storm

Windsor and Athena lock up. They trade arm locks before Windsor tags in Storm. Athena tags in Starkz. Storm takes her down with a side headlock and a shoulder tackle. Storm follows up with a dropkick. Windsor tags in and crushes Starkz in the corner. Storm does the same. They both kick Starkz in the corner. Windsor stomps away at Starkz next. Windsor sends Starkz through the ropes, then spikes her with DDT. Athena breaks up Windsor’s pinfall attempt. Storm chases Athena around the ring. Starkz stops Storm with a clothesline. Windsor lands forearm strikes on Starkz. Starkz launches Windsor into a spinebuster from Athena.

Back from break, Starkz stomps away at Windsor. Windsor headbutts Starkz. Windsor dodges a senton from Athena. Windsor clotheslines Athena in the corner, then lands a lariat in the ring. Windsor rocks Athena with a Liger Bomb next. Athena drives Stom into the mat. Windsor reacts with a discus lariat. Starkz leaps off the top with a senton. Storm dropkicks Starkz, then hits Athena with a hip attack. Storm delivers a Thesz Press to Starkz. She follows up with a hip attack. Athena hits the O-Face on Storm for the win.

Winners: Athena & Billie Starkz

After the match, Starkz launches Windsor into the barricade. Athena then reminds Storm that her time is now.

Backstage, MJF congratulates Page on retaining his AEW World Championship tonight. MJF calls Page a coward as he won’t face MJF unless MJF cashes in his contract. Page says MJF will not goad him into giving a world title shot. Page asks what is stopping him from beating MJF’s ass right now as the Hurt Syndicate isn’t there for him.

Elsewhere, Willow Nightingale confirms that she will face Thekla on AEW Collision.

Mark Briscoe vs. Ricochet

Briscoe runs over Ricochet with a shoulder tackle. Ricochet responds with a roundhouse kick. Briscoe lands an enziguiri and elbows strikes. Ricochet then uppercuts him. Ricochet sends Ricochet crashing to the mat with a side swipe. Briscoe loudly chops Ricochet in the corner. Ricochet connects with a elbow strikes and a headbutt. Briscoe whips Ricochet into the corner. Briscoe slams him to the mat next, then lays in more chops. Briscoe knocks Ricochet off the turnbuckle with an uppercut. Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona walk down the ramp, then hop up on the apron. Briscoe is distracted, which allows Ricochet to dropkick him through the ropes. Ricochet follows up with a dive through the ropes.

Back from break, Briscoe rolls up Ricochet for a two count. Ricochet slaps Briscoe, who responds with right hands. Briscoe crashes to the floor as Liona opens up the ropes. Ricochet wipes him out with a dive. He follows up with a standing shooting star press in the ring. Briscoe dodges a Spirit Gun, then sends Ricochet over the top rope. Briscoe dropkicks Kaun. Ricochet slaps Briscoe. Briscoe uppercuts him in return. Briscoe leaps off a chair and wipes out Ricochet and Kaun with a senton. Briscoe hits a lariat for a near fall. Liona pushes Briscoe off the top. Ricochet hits Vertigo for a near fall.

Brody King and Bandido run out to level Kaun and Liona. Briscoe rolls up Ricochet for a two count. Ricochet superkicks him. Briscoe flips Ricochet inside out with a lariat. He finishes him off with a Jay Driller for the win.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

After the match, Briscoe says he may never see his brother again, but he knows he’s chilling in the heavens. Briscoe says not a single cell in his body feels remorse for MJF. Briscoe tells MJF to make his day right now by fighting him. MJF’s music plays. He appears on the titantron and says he’s not an idiot. MJF says Briscoe sounded serious for once, but it doesn’t mean he has to take him seriously. MJF says he and Briscoe will meet in the main event of Dynamite next week. MJF attacks Briscoe from behind with a low blow. He follows up with right hands. MJF brings out his diamond ring. Before he can use it, Adam Page comes down to the ring and boots MJF. Briscoe looks for a Jay Driller, but MJF escapes.
