This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from Independence, Missouri! We break it all down in this week’s AEW Dynamite recap!
Backstage, Renee Paquette sits down with Kris Statlander and Toni Storm. Storm says when she lost the AEW Women’s Championship, she thought she’d feel freedom. Instead, Storm felt nothing. Storm now dreams of winning the title back. Storm says she is the title. Storm says she will do her best to beat a woman she admires. Storm asks who Statlander is without a title. Statlander says Storm needs to remember who she’s been all along. Statlander says she has personally been evolving all this time. Statlander says she is already different than who Storm faced at All Out. Statlander points out that she is a champion and a dangerous being. Statlander says she is the most deserving of the title right now. Storm says they will found out the truth at WrestleDream. Statlander says Storm already knows the truth; she just needs to accept it.
Statlander and Storm march down to the ring and begin brawling. Storm takes town Statlander with a Thesz Press. Statlander responds with a back body drop. Storm then invites Statlander to hit her with the title. Statlander refuses. Storm headbutts Statlander and German suplexes her. Statlander invites Storm to hit her with the title too. Storm instead kisses her on the head.
GOA (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) (w/ Ricochet) vs. The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) (w/ MVP)
Benjamin and Kaun trade strikes. Kaun chops Benjamin in the corner. Benjamin drops Kaun with a big boot and a suplex. Lashley tags in. He and Benjamin deliver a double shoulder tackle. Lashley follows with a vertical suplex. Lashley rams his shoulder into Kaun in the corner. He hits a swinging neckbreaker next. Liona tags in, only to be dumped to the outside by Lashley. Liona delivers a Samoan Drop to Lashley on the outside.
Back from break, Lashley launches Liona across the ring with a suplex. Benjamin runs over Kaun with clotheslines. He then rocks him with an enziguiri. Ricochet saves Kaun from a high knee. Benjamin knocks him off the apron. Kaun rolls up Benjamin for a two count. Benjamin responds with more German suplexes. Benjamin spikes Liona with a DDT. Liona answers with a headbutt. Lashley nails Liona with a lariat. Lashley and Liona collide with a double clothesline. Benjamin launches Kaun off the top and into the center of the ring. Ricochet hits a Spirit Gun as the referee is distracted. MVP nails Ricochet with his cane. Kaun pins Benjamin for the win.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Roderick Strong
Claudio uppercuts Strong. Strong answers with chops. Claudio uppercuts him again. Strong lays in more chops in the corner. Claudio delivers a side headlock takeover. Strong escapes and meets a shoulder tackle. Claudio follows with a backbreaker. Claudio slams Strong to the mat and applies another headlock. Claudio boots Strong in the face. Strong rolls to the apron, then the outside. Strong and Claudio trade elbows. Strong slams Claudio onto the apron. Claudio catches Strong mid-dropkick and swings him into the barricade.
Back from break, Claudio cinches in a crossface. Strong gets his leg on the bottom rope to break it. Claudio drives him into the mat for a two count. Strong lands a lariat and a jumping heel kick. Strong sends Claudio over the top rope and to the outside. He follows with a dropkick through the ropes. Strong slams Claudio onto the barricade.
Strong catches Claudio with kick to the jaw in the corner. They climb up top. Strong hits a back breaker off the top. Claudio uppercuts Strong for the win.

Don Callis welcomes back Mark Davis. Callis then introduces Josh Alexander and Hechicero.
Kenny Omega & Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) vs. The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Josh Alexander & Mark Davis) (w/ Don Callis)
Hechicero and Omega lock up. Hechicero targets Omega’s leg by stomping on it and extending it. Alexander strikes Omega in the lower back. Omega leaps onto Hechicero on the outside. Davis runs over Omega on the outside. Hechicero, Alexander, and Davis take turns crushing Omega in the corner. Alexander follows with right hands. Omega fires off rights of his own. Perry tags in and chops Alexander. He and Luchasaurus then double team Alexander. Luchasaurus drops Alexander with a vertical suplex. Perry leaps off the top with a senton. Davis tags in and eats an elbow from Perry. Davis rocks Perry with a shoulder block.
Back from break, Alexander applies an ankle lock on Perry. Omega drives Hechicero into the barricade while Luchasaurus and Davis brawl. Perry knocks Alexander away with an enziguiri. Omega tags in and takes down Alexander and Hechicero. Omega lands a moonsault on Alexander for a near fall. Alexander counters a snapdragon suplex with a German suplex to Omega.
Omega delivers a high knee. Alexander reaches the rope to break Omega’s pinfall attempt. Luchasaurus and Davis trade blows. They collide with a double clothesline. Alexander eats a DDT from Perry. Hechicero lands a backbreaker on Perry. Omega knees Hechicero. Davis follows with a right hand to Omega. Luchasaurus headbutts Davis. Alexander hits Omega in the knee from behind. Perry pushes Omega out of the way and gets hit by a lariat from Davis. Omega chops Davis. Davis spikes Omega with a piledriver for a near fall.
Luchasaurus chokeslams Alexander onto Hechicero. Omega knees Davis through the ropes. Perry and Luchasaurus nail Hechicero with a Doomsday Device for the win.
Winners: Kenny Omega & Jurassic Express
After the match, The Young Bucks superkick Luchasaurus, then Perry. Omega confronts them. Luchasaurus clothesline both Matt and Nick Jackson. Perry wipes out DCF and The Young Bucks with moonsault to the outside.
Jamie Hayter vs. Skye Blue (w/ Julia Hart)
Hayter delivers a headlock takedown. Blue escapes and drops Hayter to the mat. Hayter drops Blue in return. Hayter runs her over with a series of shoulders. Hayter then slams her. Hayter lays in right hands on Blue in the corner. Hayter follows with a suplex. Hayter and Hart argue on the outside. Blue superkicks Hayter, then drops her with a hanging neckbreaker.
Back from break, Hayter headbutts Blue off the top. She connects with a dropkick and a back suplex next. Blue dodges an enziguiri from Hayter. Blue launches Hayter across the ring with an arm drag. Blue and Hayter trade strikes. Hayter delivers a backbreaker. Hayter catches Blue mid-crossbody and launches her onto the floor. The action returns to the ring with Hayter delivering a neckbreaker. Hayter follows with a lariat for a near fall. Hayter rocks Blue with a pair of lariats for the win.
Winner: Jamie Hayter
After the match, Thekla says things will get toxic on Saturday with Hayter. Thekla invites Hayter to impress her.
Backstage, Mercedes Mone celebrates holding 10 championship belts. Mone also celebrates becoming the longest reigning TBS Champion.
“Hangman” Adam Page joins the commentary team for the next match.
AEW World Trios Title: The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) (c) vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico, Rush & The Beast Mortos) (w/ Sammy Guevara)
Hobbs and Mortos try to shoulder tackle one another. Mortos catches Hobbs with a headbutt instead. Hobbs answers with short lariats in the corner. Mortos leaps off the ropes with a sling blade. Hobbs delivers a shoulder tackle. Rush and Shibata trade chops. Rush and Shibata then trade suplexes. Rush headbutts Shibata. Shibata spikes Rush a DDT. Joe and Mortos lock up. Joe fires off right hands, then lands an enziguiri in the corner.
Shibata tags in and boots Rush off the apron. Mortos kicks Shibata. LFI then knock Joe off the other apron. Mortos chops Shibata in the corner. Rush whips Dralistico and Mortos into Shibata. They follow up with a triple dropkick.
Back from break, Dralistico chops Shibata in the corner, then follows with stomps. Shibata boots Dralistico in return. Shibata delivers a suplex. Hobbs tags in and knocks down Dralistico with a boot of his own. Hobbs clotheslines Rush and Mortos next. Hobbs slams Dralistico into the mat. Joe tags in and elbows Rush and Dralistico. He follows with a senton and a powerslam to Dralistico. Shibata and Hobbs neutralize Mortos and Rush on the outside. Dralistico rocks Joe with a corkscrew kick inside. Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch. Dralistico taps out.
Winners (And Still): The Opps
After the match, LFI attack The Opps. Page slides into the ring to even the odds for The Opps. He lays in strikes on Mortos, Rush, and Dralistico. He sends Dralistico to the outside, then runs over Mortos with a lariat. Guevera pulls Rush out of the ring before Page can deliver a Buckshot Lariat. Joe picks up the AEW World Championship and shoves it into Page before walking off.
