This week’s special holiday edition of AEW Dynamite emanates from Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City!
Continental Classic Blue League: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Orange Cassidy
Cassidy kicks off the action by throwing his sunglasses at Takeshita, then surprising him with a series of roll-ups. Takeshita answers with a big boot that knocks Cassidy off the apron. Cassidy eventually gets back in the action with several DDTs, a Stun Dog Millionaire, an Orange Punch, and even a Beach Break, but still, it isn’t enough to overcome Takeshita’s Raging Fire, which secures the winning pinfall.
Winner: Konosuke Takeshita
With his victory, Takeshita clinches his spot in the semi-finals of the Continental Classic.
Continental Classic Blue League: Mascara Dorada vs. Roderick Strong
Dorada and Strong lock up, then exchange submission holds in the opening moments. Dorada eventually gains the upper hand with an arm drag, which Strong answers with a side slam onto the apron. Dorada and Strong continue to fight back and forth, with Strong delivering a backbreaker. When Strong looks to the End of Heartache after, however, Dorada escapes and blasts Strong with a kick. Dorada follows with a Shooting Star Press for the victory.
Winner: Mascara Dorada
We Hear From Kris Statlander & Jamie Hayter
Statlander and Hayter join Renee Paquette on the stage ahead of their title match at Worlds End. Statlander says she gave Hayter this opportunity because she knows what it’s like to have everything taken away. Statlander recalls Hayter being on top of the world with the women’s title in 2023, then having it ripped from her hands. Statlander encourages Hayter to stop looking at the past, and look at what she could be now. Statlander says she lost everything too, but then she realized that her sob story is over. Statlander says she is champion because she focuses on who she deserves to be. Statlander demands that Hayter fear her for what she’s become. Statlander says she is transforming herself every single day. Statlander adds that Hayter will be face to face with the Cosmic Killer at Worlds End. She then dares Hayter to prove that she deserves to reclaim the title.
Hayter goes to nail Statlander with another Hayterade, but Statlander sees it coming and blocks it. Hayter reminds Statlander that the last time she hit that move, Statlander didn’t get back up. Statlander and Hayter begin arguing, causing AEW referees to separate them.
MJF vs. Dustin Waller
MJF fires off right hands on Waller, then drops him to the mat. MJF knocks over Waller with his crotch next. Waller answers with a chop. MJF returns with one of his own, then delivers a DDT. MJF cinches in the Salt of the Earth. Waller taps.
Winner: MJF
After the match, MJF grabs a mic. Before he can talk, Adam Page’s music hits, as does Swerve Strickland’s. Page and Strickland stare at MJF from the balconies in the crowd. Page reminds MJF that the no physicality clause got lifted last week. Page implores MJF to say what he wanted to say. Page points out that he beat MJF twice this year already, and he will beat his butt again tonight. Page heads to the ring, as does Strickland. The Opps and a series of bodyguards run down, only to get leveled by Strickland and Page. Samoa Joe appears on the Titantron and says the men are there to expose their true natures. Joe suggests that the hatred between Page and Strickland spreads a bit further than they anticipated. Joe warns that he is coming for MJF, Strickland, and Page one by one.
Strickland hits MJF with a House Call. Page wraps a chain around MJF’s neck while holding him back. Strickland says MJF actually likes all the people and the response they give him because it feeds his fragile ego. Strickland says he’s never meet someone as selfish and jealous as MJF. Strickland claims he will always be above MJF, then recalls the victims of MJF. Strickland names Jay White, Wardlow, and Adam Cole. Strickland says he will always be above MJF because he makes his enemies and allies better. Strickland says he will see MJF at Worlds End.
Dynamite Diamond Ring 2025 Final: Bandido vs. Ricochet (w/ GOA)
Ricochet takes down Bandido with an arm drag, then rolls him up for a two count. Bandido and Ricochet dodge each others moves until the former lands a dropkick. Ricochet runs over Bandido, then dumps Bandido over the top rope. Bandido surprises Ricochet with a slap to the back of his head in return.
In the match’s final moments, Bandido turns Ricochet inside out with a thrust kick. Bandido follows with a knee to Ricochet’s jaw. Toa Liona distracts the referee, allowing Bishop Kaun to help Ricochet evade a 21 Plex. Ricochet then low blows Bandido and lines up for a Spirit Gun. Bandido counters into a crucifix pin for the win.
Winner: Bandido
After the match, Ricochet fires off right hands on Bandido. Brody King runs down to the ring, causing Ricochet and GOA to retreat.
Backstage, Gabe Kidd attacks Darby Allin from behind. Kidd chokes out Allin, then drags him up a flight of stairs. Kidd kicks Allin down the stairs as well.
Marina Shafir vs. Mina Shirakawa
Shirakawa blasts Shafir with a dropkick, then a series of kicks in the corner. Shirakawa levels Shafir with a dragon screw. She continues to target Shafir’s knee by driving it into the mat. Shirakawa bounces Shafir’s leg against the ropes, then flattens her with a splash. Shirakawa follows with a missile dropkick.
Shafir finally gets momentum on her side when she plants Shirakawa into the mat with a slam. Shirakawa shifts it back into her favor with a Figure Four, which Shafir loudly refuses to tap to. Shafir breaks it by snapping Shirakawa’s fingers. Shirakawa manages to deliver a spinning backfist, but then gets cinched into the Mother’s Milk submission. Shirakawa fades.
Winner: Marina Shafir
After the match, Shafir locks in the Mother’s Milk again. Toni Storm marches down to the ring, only to meet a foot to the face from Shafir. Shafir flips off the crowd as she leaves.
Backstage, The Young Bucks confirm they won’t be cleared for the remainder of the year. Kenny Omega says he is going to take of something himself in the meantime.
Continental Classic Gold League: Jack Perry vs. Pac
Pac and Perry trade arm holds. Perry eventually takes down Pac with a hurricanrana. He follows with a wheelbarrow bulldog, then a dive to the outside. Perry goes up top, prompting Pac to roll out of the ring. Pac gains traction with a suplex on the floor.
In the final moments, Pac cinches in the Brutalizer. Perry rolls through and reaches the bottom rope with his foot to force a break. Pac runs the ropes and wipes out Perry with a lariat. When Pac looks for another Brutalizer, Perry counters into a roll-up for a near fall. Pac goes for the Brutalizer yet again, but Perry bites his hand. Perry surprises Pac with a roll-up for the win.
Winner: Jack Perry
After the match, Luchasaurus brings Perry milk and cookies to celebrate.
