This week’s episode of WWE Raw emanates from Orlando, Florida! We break it all down in this week’s Raw recap!
We Hear From The Vision
Paul Heyman comes out to the ring with Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, and Austin Theory. Heyman says the rumors are true about Theory being an official member of The Vision. Theory says he has worked his entire career for this moment. Theory points to Breakker, whom he says is the next World Heavyweight Champion. CM Punk’s music hits. Punk says he likes to look a man in the eye before he puts them to sleep. Punk invites The Vision to leave the ring so it’s just him and Breakker, unless Breakker is scared of him. Breakker claims he’s not scared of Punk. The Vision members minus Breakker leave the ring.
Breakker compliments his stablemates, then asserts that he will be the next world champion. Breakker says he tired of people saying that he is the future when he is actually the now. Breakker takes issue with Punk claiming he is just a shiny toy that people will move on from. Breakker dares Punk to find someone more committed and more destined to be in the ring with him. Breakker says Punk doesn’t know him at all.
Breakker says he has to live up a higher standard than Punk could ever imagine. Breakker says he is willing to die for the world title. He knows that Punk is too, so he plans to put Punk in the ground. Punk says Breakker is more ready than anyone he’s ever seen. Punk says the problem is that he’s not ready himself. Punk says the world title is a lot heavier than Breakker thinks, and Punk isn’t ready to let it go. Punk adds that he and Breakker are not the same. Punk says someday someone is going to beat him for the world title, but it won’t be Breakker.
Backstage, Raquel Rodriguez says she wants to handle her title match tonight alone, with no Judgment Day interference.
WWE Women’s World Title: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Nikki Bella vs. Raquel Rodriguez
Nikki shoves Raquel and Vaquer apart. Raquel knocks Nikki to the mat. Vaquer rolls up Raquel for a two count. Nikki elbows Vaquer out of the ring. Nikki dropkicks Raquel, then launches Vaquer into the barricade. She does the same to Raquel.
Back from break, Raquel runs over Vaquer with a shoulder. Vaquer rolls up Raquel, but Nikki breaks it up with a kick. Vaquer sets up for the Devil’s Kiss on Nikki. Raquel breaks it up, then tosses Nikki the outside. Vaquer leaps off the top and lands a crossbody on Raquel. Nikki locks in an STF on Raquel. While Raquel traps Nikki in a Figure Four, Vaquer turns Raquel over for a Devil’s Kiss. Vaquer delivers a meteora to Raquel in the corner. She follows with dragonscrew to both Nikki and Raquel. Nikki sweeps Vaquer off the apron.
Back from another break, Nikki slams both Raquel and Vaquer to the mat from off the top. Nikki rolls up Raquel for a two count. Raquel blocks a hurricanrana from Nikki, though Nikki still hits an enziguiri. Vaquer drops Nikki with a modified Angel’s Wings. Raquel breaks up the cover that follows. Vaquer connects with a jawbreaker. She rolls up Raquel for a two count. Nikki rolls up Raquel for a two count of her own. Raquel delivers a Tejana Bomb on Nikki. Vaquer dumps Raquel out of the ring, then pins Nikki for the win.
Winner (And Still): Stephanie Vaquer
Backstage, R-Truth says Gunther is not a good person. He also calls him out for continuing to brag about beating John Cena.
We Hear From Kabuki Warriors
Asuka brags about beating Rhea Ripley last week. Asuka calls Ripley and SKY stupid babies. Kairi Sane says SKY should have never interrupted her last week. Asuka says Ripley and SKY will pay for their disrespect next week because no one is ready for the Kabuki Warriors. Ripley and SKY charge the ring and begin brawling with Asuka and Sane. Sane pushes SKY into the side of announce desk. Ripley checks on her, only to be attacked by Asuka from behind. Asuka launches SKY into the barricade. Sane and Asuka roll Ripley into the ring. SKY reaches her feet and pushes Sane off the top rope. Ripley then elbows Sane. She and SKY nail Sane and Asuka with double kicks to send them retreating.
Gunther vs. R-Truth
Truth fires off right hands on Gunther in the corner. He follows with a kick before Gunther lands a shot to Truth’s chest. Gunther slams Truth to the mat. Gunther chops him. Truth answers with a chop of his own, but gets knocked down again in return. Truth locks in a sleeper hold. Gunther backs up into the corner to break it. Gunther lands another chop and a clothesline. He delivers another clothesline. Truth responds with a pair of shoulder tackles before Gunther boots him in the face. Gunther powerbombs Truth then cinches in the sleeper hold. Truth taps out.
Winner: Gunther
Backstage, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee back up Je’Von Evans when Los Americanos confront him.
Rey Mysterio vs. Austin Theory (w/ Logan Paul)
Theory and Rey lock up. Theory delivers a backbreaker. Rey responds with a hurricanrana. Theory runs over Rey, then knocks him down with a right hand. Rey sets up for a 619, but Theory rolls out of the way in time. Rey leaps off the apron, only to get caught by Theory. Theory then rams him into the ring post.
Back from break, Rey spikes Theory with a DDT, then hits the 619. When Rey looks to follow with a crossbody, but Logan Paul sweeps his feet, causing the referee to call for the bell.
Winner (by DQ): Rey Mysterio
After the match, Logan and Theory begin beating down Rey. Penta runs down to the even the odds. Rey hits Logan with a 619. Penta sends Logan to the outside.
We Hear From Maxxine Dupri
Maxxine says she would not be standing in the ring as Women’s IC Champion if it weren’t for the WWE Universe. Maxxine adds that Becky Lynch can keep running her mouth, but she can’t deny that she tapped out to Maxxine’s ankle lock last week. Maxxine says she will stop at nothing to retain her title against Lynch next week.
Lynch’s music hits. She walks down the ramp and claims that she did not tap out last week. Maxxine warns to choose her next moves wisely because if Maxxine gets a hold of her ankle, she can either break it or make Lynch submit again. Lynch calls Maxxine moody. Lynch says she doesn’t start fights, but she finishes them. Lynch says she came out to give Maxxine credit for getting a tiny bit better in recent months. Maxxine says she earned her title and she will make Lynch realize it next week. Maxxine says Sports Illustrated might even acknowledge her as the IC Champion. Lynch recalls her long list of accolades in WWE and says she overcame all the injustices against her. Lynch says it is not over until she wins. Lynch says Maxxine will be questioning if she is everything the people think she is or everything Lynch knows she is.
Backstage, Bayley calls Adam Pearce an idiot. She and Lyra Valkyria also ask him to consider them for a shot at the women’s tag titles.
WWE World Tag Team Titles: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee (c) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso)
Styles and Jey lock up. Jey rocks Styles with an uppercut slap. Styles answers with a dropkick. Lee and Styles drop Jimmy with a double hip toss. Lee sends Jimmy to the outside with a hurricanrana.
Back from break, Jey nails Styles with an enziguiri. Jimmy and Jey then yank Styles’ legs apart. Jey follows with stomps to his mid-section. Lee tags in and takes down Jimmy with a hurricanrana. Jimmy delivers a roundhouse kick to Lee in response. Jey tags in and eats a powerbomb from Lee. Jimmy drags Lee to the outside and rams him into the steel steps. Jimmy clears the announce desk. Styles blasts him with a flying forearm. Jey wipes out Styles with a dive through the ropes.
Back from another break, Styles nails Jimmy with a kick, then Jey with an elbow. Styles drops Jey with a neckbreaker for a near fall. Jey superkicks Lee off the apron, then spears Styles. Jimmy goes up top and descends with an Uso Splash for a near fall on Styles. Jimmy and Jey line up for double Uso Splashes. Lee knocks Jimmy off the top rope with a kick. Jey crashes into the ring post. Lee wipes out Jimmy with a dive to the outside. Styles rolls up Jey for a two count. Jey superkicks Styles. Styles answers with a Pele Kick and the Styles Clash for a near fall. Lee double stomps Jey in the back. Jimmy charges in with a superkick to Lee. Styles looks for a Phenomenal Forearm, but eats a double superkick. Jimmy and Jey land a double superkick on Lee as well before dropping Lee with a 1D for the win.
