This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanates from Tulsa, Oklahoma! We break it all down in this week’s Dynamite recap.
AEW Continental Title Eliminator: Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin
Benjamin delivers a German suplex right out of the gate. Moxley cinches in a sleeper in response. Benjamin escapes and tries for an ankle lock. Moxley kicks him away. The two trade strikes. Benjamin suplexes Moxley again, then chops him in the corner. Moxley responds by dumping Benjamin to the outside, then firing off forearms. Benjamin whips Moxley into the barricade. Benjamin sends Moxley over the barricade. They continue fighting in the crowd. When they return to ringside, Benjamin wipes out Moxley with a leap off the barricade. Moxley rams Benjamin into the steel steps. Moxley and Benjamin level each other out with clotheslines.
Back from break, Benjamin kicks Moxley’s leg, then follows with a thrust kick for a near fall. Benjamin follows with a high knee in the corner Moxley spikes Benjamin with a Paradigm Shift for a near fall of his own. Moxley cinches in a bulldog choke. Benjamin reaches the ropes to break the hold, the blasts Moxley with another knee. Benjamin locks in a triangle submission. Moxley reverses into a roll-up for the win.
Winner: Jon Moxley
After the match, Benjamin and Moxley shake hands.
Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. The Demand (Bishop Kaun, Ricochet & Toa Liona)
All six men begin brawling at the sound of the bell. Matt and Nick wipe out Kaun and Liona with dropkicks. Nick follows with a dive to the outside. Perry follows with a moonsault off the top as well before getting back into the ring. Perry spears Ricochet, then rains down with right hands. Matt, Nick, and Perry crush Ricochet in the corner. The hit him with a trio of dropkicks next. Nick nails Ricochet with a leg drop. Nick chokes Ricochet against the ropes with a head scissors. Perry spikes Ricochet with a DDT. Liona and Kaun break up the pinfall attempt that comes after. Matt and Nick send them over the top rope and to the outside. The wipe them out with more dives. Perry delivers another DDT to Ricochet, while Nick lands a senton on Liona. Kaun hammer throws Perry into the ring apron and barricade.
Back from break, Kaun drops Perry with a cutter. Ricochet lays out Perry with a Vertigo, but Matt and Nick break up his pinfall attempt. Ricochet lines up for a Spirit Gun. Perry ducks, but meets a knee to the jaw. Perry lands a poisonrana. Matt and Nick blast Ricochet with superkicks, then Kaun and Liona. Nick wipes out GOA with a dive to the outside. Perry and Matt work together to take out Ricochet with a Doomsday Device on Ricochet. Matt and Nick follow with a BTE Trigger. Perry finishes off Ricochet with a running knee.
Winners: Jack Perry & The Young Bucks
After the match, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle attack Perry and The Young Bucks. Liona tosses Perry over the barricade, while Doyle chokes Matt in the corner. Davis does the same to Nick in another. Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey run down to even the odds with a hockey stick and a pipe. The lights flicker off and on, revealing Andrade under a mask. He lays out Bailey and Knight. FTR and Stokely Hathaway appear on the entrance ramp, staring down Andrade.
We Hear From Willow Nightingale
Nightingale says she’s feeling complete because this is the first stop in her tour as a double champion. Nightingale says it’s important to take in the good moments and celebrate the things that matter. Nightingale gives a shoutout to Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander, the latter whom she is now reunited with. Nightingale says they’re gonna have a good time. She adds that she loves the fight and the competition. Nightingale tells her potential challengers that she is ready to fight. Nightingale calls for Mercedes Mone to join them.
Mone walks to the ring in an all white outfit. Nightingale credits Mone with being unstoppable in 2025. Nightingale says because of AEW, she dug deep to get the TBS Championship back. Nightingale invites Mone to cut cake with her. Mone screams and destroys the table. She then shoves Cameron before tripping into cake. Nightingale drives her into the cake again with a powerbomb.
Bandido vs. Sammy Guevara
Guevara and Bandido jockey for positioning. Guevara eventually connects with a pump kick, then rolls to the outside. Bandido drives Guevara into the apron. He follows with a kick. Guevara spits something into Bandido’s eyes, then spikes him with a DDT on the floor.
Back from break, Bandido drops Guevara with a pop-up cutter and a pump kick. Guevara lands on his feet coming out of Bandido’s 21 Plex attempt. Guevara rocks Bandido with a flying knee strike and a backbreaker. Bandido catches Guevara’s foot, then blasts him with a knee. Bandido follows with a successful 21 Plex for the win.
Winner: Bandido
After the match, MJF meets Bandido in the ring. MJF says if anyone knows about lucha libre, it’s himself. MJF says he’s a bigger star in Mexico than Bandido will ever be. MJF says he respects Bandido’s culture, so he brought a translator. He also claims that he sees potential in Bandido. MJF says the Dynamite Diamond Ring doesn’t belong to Bandido, it belongs to him. MJF asks for the ring back, then suggests they skip their world title match next week. MJF offers to put Bandido over to Tony Khan and wrestle him on PPV in five to ten years. Bandido calls MJF a stupid S.O.B. MJF lands a low blow in response, then takes the ring. MJF accidently nails the translator with the ring, opening the door for Bandido to land a low blow as well. Bandido delivers a 21 Plex to the translator and MJF.
Marina Shafir vs. Toni Storm
Shafir and Storm lock up. Shafir elbows the back of Storm’s leg. Storm answers with an arm drag and a high knee. Storm hip checks Shafir to the floor, then bounces her off the steel steps. Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia approach Storm. Shafir capitalizes with a head scissors. Shafir drives Storm into the mat.
Back from break, Shafir slams an elbow into Storm’s back, then knocks her down with another elbow. Storm responds with a dropkick. Shafir blasts Storm with a high boot. Storm headbutts her in return. Storm rolls up Shafir, but Yuta pulls the referee to the outside. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner (by DQ): Toni Storm
After the match, Shafir clocks Storm in the head. She then lays out Mina Shirakawa with a high kick. Luther berates Shafir. Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong come down to even the odds. The Death Riders retreat through the crowd. Cassidy helps Shirakawa and Storm to their feet.
Backstage, Darby Allin demands that Pac give him a match against him. Pac says he’s not interested. Allin blinds Pac with a fire extinguisher, then slams him into a garage door. Allin threatens to break Pac’s ankle unless he agrees to a match. Pac reluctantly agrees.
Lights Out Tag Team: Adam Page & Swerve Strickland vs. The Opps (Hook & Powerhouse Hobbs)
The lights dim as the four men begin fighting at ringside. Strickland rams Hook into the barricade. Hobbs runs over Strickland with a lariat. Hobbs grabs a chair. Strickland boots Hobbs in the face. Page wraps the chair around Hobbs’ neck, then launches him into the ring post. Page wipes out Hobbs with a moonsault to the floor. Strickland delivers a Death Valley Driver to Hook on the apron. Page grabs his chain and chases after Hook. Hobbs spears Page. Strickland levels Hobbs with a crossbody to the outside. Hook and Strickland trade strikes on the apron. Hook suplexes Strickland onto the apron.
Back from break, Hobbs drives Strickland onto cinderblocks with a slam. When Hobbs covers him, Page breaks it up. Page blasts Hobbs with a rolling elbow. Page boots Hobbs. Members of The Opps dojo run down and ambush Page and Strickland. Hobbs wraps a chain around Page and Strickland’s necks to choke them. Prince Nana steps up to the apron and hits Hobbs with his hot coffee. Page and Strickland break free from the chain and fight off the dojo. Hobbs accidently knocks Hook off the apron. Page runs over Hobbs with a rolling lariat. Hobbs counters a Buckshot Lariat with a spinebuster. Strickland nails Hobbs with a House Call.
Strickland wipes out the dojo members with a Swerve Stomp to the outside. Page and Strickland land a Dead Eye-stomp combo to Hobbs on the cinderblocks. Strickland headbutts Hook. Page blasts Hook with a fistful of chain. He wraps it around Hook’s neck next. Strickland connects with a House Call. Page follows with a Buckshot Lariat on Hook. He tosses Hook over the apron, leaving him to hang by the chain. Hook taps out.
