WWE Raw January 5, 2026: WWE World Title Match, Women’s Tag & IC Titles On The Line

This week’s episode of WWE Raw emanates from Brooklyn, New York! We break it all down in this week’s Raw recap!

WWE Women’s Tag Titles: Kabuki Warriors (c) vs Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY

SKY dropkicks Asuka. Ripley then wipes out Asuka with a cannonball off the apron.

Back from break, Kairi Sane and Asuka launch Ripley into the barricade. Sane chokes Ripley against the ropes with a figure four leg lock. She leaps off the top with a forearm next. Asuka taunts Ripley with trash talk. Ripley drops Sane with a fallaway slam. SKY tags in and takes down Asuka with a sling blade. Sane sweeps SKY off her feet as Asuka distracts the referee. Sane then nails SKY with a double stomp to her back.

Back from another break, Ripley slams Sane into the mat, then lands a dropkick. Ripley boots Asuka off the apron. She hits a Razor’s Edge on Sane next. SKY follows with a missile dropkick. Ripley delivers a Riptide to Sane. Asuka pushes SKY off the top rope, then blasts Ripley with a codebreaker for a near fall. Asuka drives a knee into Ripley. She follows with a series of strikes before cinching in an ankle lock. Ripley breaks free, only to take a German suplex and spinning heel kick. Sane follows with an Insane Elbow. SKY breaks up the pinfall attempt that comes after.

SKY German suplexes Sane out of the ring, then officially tags in. Asuka rolls up SKY for a near fall. SKY blasts Asuka with a double stomp and a meteroa. Ripley drives Asuka into the mat with a Riptide. SKY follows with a moonsault, then wipes out Sane with a dive through the ropes. Ripley cover Asuka for the win.

Winners (And New): IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley

Backstage, Adam Pearce tells Gunther to talk from his heart in the ring tonight, but maybe with a bit of respect too.

We Hear Gunther

Gunther asks where the respect is for him for tapping out John Cena, who made career as a man that never gave up. AJ Styles’ music hits. Gunther says if Styles is here to tell him about respect, then he is punching about his weight. Gunther asserts he is the best wrestler in WWE right now. As Styles goes to talk, Gunther interrupts and brags again about making Cena tap out. Gunther interrupts Styles again by calling Cena a “little b*tch.” Gunther asks what Styles is going to do about it. Styles slaps Gunther. They stare off with each other until Styles drops the microphone and leaves the ring.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title: Maxxine Dupri (c) vs. Becky Lynch

Maxxine and Lynch jockey for positioning. Lynch backs Maxxine into the corner and back elbows her. Maxxine rains down with right hands after a Thesz Press. The action spills to the floor. Maxxine boots Lynch in the face.

Back from break, Maxxine delivers a suplex, then spinning heel kick. Maxxine goes up top and leaps off with a crossbody. Lynch moves out of the way in time. Maxxine cinches in an ankle lock. Lynch crawls to the ropes to force a break. Maxxine dodges a leg drop, then rolls up Lynch for a two count. Maxxine cinches in another ankle lock. Lynch rolls through and locks in her arm bar. Maxxine escapes and applies another ankle lock. Lynch escapes again and clocks Maxxine with an elbow.

They meet up top, where Lynch descends with a superplex. Lynch spikes Maxxine with a DDT. Lynch follows with a back suplex for a near fall. Lynch cinches in an ankle lock of her own. Maxxine rolls through and lands a crossbody off the top. Lynch and Maxxine meet up top again. Maxxine transitions into the ankle lock. Lynch bridges into a pin for a win, with her hand on the bottom rope.

Winner (And New): Becky Lynch

We Hear From The Usos

Jimmy and Jey Uso dance with the crowd to celebrate their tag team title win. They send a warning to every other tag team in WWE. Jimmy says they are the best tag team in the game, then invites any team to step up to them. Jey signs off with his catchphrase before dancing once again.

We Hear From Stephanie Vaquer

Michael Cole confirms that Vaquer suffered an ankle injury. Vaquer walks to the ring with the assistance of a walking boot. Jackie Redmond asks what’s next for Vaquer. Vaquer reflects on her successful 2025, which included becoming WWE Women’s World Champion. Vaquer thanks the crowd for supporting her. Vaquer says her ankle injury will not stop her. She wants more and wants to face everyone.

Raquel Rodriguez attacks Vaquer from behind. Raquel repeatedly slams Vaquer ankle against the mat. Raquel follows with a Tejana Bomb. She grabs a steel chair, prompting referees to run down to the ring. Raquel wraps the chair around Vaquer’s ankle. Adam Pearce yanks it away before Raquel can do more damage.

Backstage, Raquel slams Vaquer into some crates. She stomps on her bad ankle next. WWE officials run in to separate them.

Lyra Valkyria (w/ Bayley) vs. Liv Morgan (w/ Roxanne Perez)

Valkyria runs over Morgan with a clothesline. She follows with a dropkick and a Northern Lights Suplex. Morgan dodges Valkyria’s dropkick through the ropes, then nails her with a knee. Morgan drives Valkyria into the steel steps.

Back from break, Valkyria spikes Morgan with a tornado DDT. Morgan and Valkyria trade pinfall attempts. Morgan counters a Night Wing with a codebreaker. Perez pulls the ropes, causing Valkyria to fall to the outside as the referee is distracted. Bayley clocks Perez on the outside. Perez sends Bayley over the barricade, then runs away as Bayley chases after her. As Valkyria gets back into the ring, Morgan plants her with an Oblivion for the win.

Winner: Liv Morgan

WWE World Heavyweight Title: CM Punk (c) vs. Bron Breakker (w/ Paul Heyman)

Breakker kicks Punk in the midsection. Breakker then slams Punk into the mat.

Back from break, Punk headbutts Breakker. Breakker answers with a side suplex. Breakker taunts Punk and calls him a bum. Punk fires off elbows and chops. Breakker responds with a running knee and a gut buster. Punk rolls out of the ring. Breakker charges in, but Punk sees it coming and nails him with a clothesline.

Back from another break, Punk leaps off the top with an elbow drop for a two count. Breakker and Punk meet up top. Breakker delivers a Frankensteiner for a two count of his own. Breakker spikes Breakker with a DDT. Breakker and Punk trade strikes. Punk rocks Breakker with a heel kick and swinging neckbreaker. Punk follows with a running knee in the corner. He goes up top and descends with an elbow. Punk calls for GTS. Heyman hops up to the apron, distracting Punk. Bronson Reed, Logan Paul and Austin Theory surround the ring. Breakker pushes Punk into the referee. Theory nails Punk with a stomp.

The referee recovers and counts a two count when Breakker covers Punk. Penta, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio arrive to even the odds for Punk. The three of them and The Vision members brawl into the crowd. Back in the ring, Breakker lines up for a spear. Punks sees it coming, causing Breakker to crash into the steel ring post instead. Punk rocks Breakker with a GTS for a near fall. Punk drives Breakker into the mat with a piledriver for another near fall. Punk calls for another GTS. Breakker counters into an armbar. Punk reverses into a roll-up for a two count.

Breakker returns to the armbar. Punk rolls through and locks in the Anaconda Vice. Breakker reaches his feet to break it. He delivers a gut buster and a clothesline for a near fall. Breakker calls for a GTS of his own. Punk reverses into an STF. Breakker reaches the bottom rope, but Punk pulls him back into the center. Heyman distracts the referee again. Punk punches Heyman, then sidesteps Breakker. Breakker blasts Punk with a right hand as Punk dives through the ropes. Breakker goes up and leaps off with a splash that sends both of them through the announce table. Breakker pulls Punk back into the ring. Punk counters a spear with a knee. He follows with a GTS for the win.

Winner (And Still): CM Punk
