On the eve of Summer Slam Cleveland, Tommaso Ciampa and Cleveland native Johnny Gargano put their Tag Team Championships on the line against Tama Tonga and the Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu. The New Bloodline has caused havoc on Smackdown for months, the level of which has drastically escalated since Fatu’s arrival in June. DIY on the other hand, only became Champions one month ago. With The self proclaimed Tribal Chief Solo Sikoa facing Cody Rhodes in the main event of Summer Slam. The New Bloodline were in desperate need of momentum after suffering a major loss at Money in the Bank.
The defending champions were strangely the underdogs, as the other members of the Bloodline stood outside the ring like sharks waiting for the scent of blood. The home town hero Johnny Gargano had his time to shine, he and Ciampa both stood their ground firmly against the power of Fatu and Tonga. After evading a hip attack into the steel steps, Gargano and Ciampa hit a Shatter Machine, a move made famous by their former rivals FTR. Tonga on his knees in the center of the ring, Ciampa and Gargano lined themselves up across from each other with the goal of hitting their tag team finisher. Suddenly, Tanga Loa and Solo Sikoa jump onto the aprons to attack the defending champions.
This was all it took, from the interference onwards, The Bloodline were in control, Jacob Fatu hit a series of brutally impactful moves. A pop up Samoan drop, into a devastating moonsault, then an impact DDT for the three count. The Bloodline finally holds gold once more! The show goes off the air with Solo Sikoa carrying both Tag Team Titles on his shoulders, towering above the broken body of home town hero Johnny Gargano
