Tuesday was ladies night, as several women were given a chance at the spotlight on this edition of NXT. Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer teamed up again; Damage CTRL, Piper Niven, Chelsea Green, Fatal Attraction, Meta-Four and several other women made their presence felt, and the night ended with the debut of the newest NXT sensation!
Read all the top moments and highlights of the show below!
Meta-Four def. Damage Control (Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky) by Disqualification
This week’s episode opened with immediate action, as Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky took on Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson. It was Damage Ctrl vs Meta Four and it was a pretty great match that began with a series of dropkicks. After some back and forth, Lash Legend picked up both members of Damage Ctrl and performed a double Torture Rack on the duo!
She followed up with a body slam on Sane for a two-count. Sane tried to rebound with an Irish Whip, but Legend was too strong, too tall, too powerful to be moved. Sane attempted a sleeper hold but Legend blocked that as well, and threw Sane over the top rope.
Sane rebounded and performed a Huracanrana, which sent Lash outside. Sane followed up and sent Jackson outside as well and then hit a flying forearm on Jackson. Her partner, Iyo Sky then hit a textbook Asai Moonsault onto her opponents which led to the commercial break.
Back from the break, Sky and Jackson collided but Sky rebounded and tagged in Sane, who ran and attacked Legend before giving those hands to Jackson. She followed that with a spear on Jackson, before ducking a pump kick and hitting a backfist on Legend. Sane the shoulder blocked both Jackson and Legend in the corner, before hitting her patented top rope forearm for a close two-count. Sane followed that up with an AlabamaSlamma! Then, Sane and Iyo hit an assisted pop-up elbow drop for another two-count. Sky and Legend both tagged into the match and Sky may have slipped whilst performing her Slingshot. Unsure if it was a botch or an intentional “screw up,” because Vic Joseph noted that Sane accidentally hit the ropes. Foreshadowing?
The match ended when Legend tagged in and hit Sky with her pump kick. Then she hit Sane with a backbreaker before tagging Jackson in. All of a sudden, Piper Niven interfered and attacked Jackson at ringside, causing a disqualification. Then, Chelsea Green came out and attacked Legend, before both Niven and Green attacked Damage Ctrl as well! Green ended up diving on Kairi Sane to end the bedlam!
Following the match, footage showed Tank Ledger standing on top of a merch stand to introduce some NASCAR racer dude named Cole Custer, which sounds like SUCH an NXT name (LOL). Hank and Tank welcomed Custer to NXT before OTM and Jaida Parker arrived on-scene and challenged the duo (Hank and Tank) to a match.
After OTM made their entrance, we cut backstage to Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic helping Brinley Reece (these names, man) do deadlift squats. Reece bragged about turning down Ashanti Thee Adonis and, just between us girls, Ruca caused a bit of a ruckus by suggesting that there might be some…chemistry…between Petrovic and Adonis. As if being summoned by hormones, Adonis appeared and started flirting with Petrovic. She told him that she only helped him because he helped her. Then they stared lovingly awkwardly at each other before Ruca told Adonis to leave. She then swore that there had to be something between the two lovebirds and Reece said they just witnessed a canon event.
Jaida Parker def. Tatum Paxley
After that episode of One Tree Hill, we got back to the action as Tatum Paxley made her entrance to face Jaida Parker. Tatum Paxley, Brinley Reece, Fallon Henley. All of these wrestlers are extremely talented, but the NXT roster reads like the most annoying third grade classroom lineup you’ve ever seen, full of kids whose parents wear Ugg boots, drink pumpkin spice, and use the word “aesthetic” as an adjective.
Anyway. Jaida Parker defeated Tatum Paxley in four minutes after a Banzai Drop, an Argentinian Rack Slam, and her Hop-Notic finisher.
After the match, Lola Vice had to be held back at the top of the entrance ramp. You know who wasn’t being held back? Wendy Choo, who appeared and then literally kidnapped Tatum Paxley. Literally. Like, threw her into a roadie case and rolled her away into the night, into the dark.
Speaking of weird names on talented wrestlers, Lexis King approached NQCC. King, possibly ironically?, said that he had a lot of things in common with Charlie Dempsey. Such as good facial hair. King said he wasn’t a “loose canon,” he was a straight shooter. Dempsey said that he knows what King is doing, but it’s not going to end the way he thinks it will. Dempsey told Wren Sinclair to go tell NXT GM Ava to give King a Heritage Cup match. Wren said now King just needs to find a corner-person. King wondered who it could be! Terri Runnels, maybe?
Another backstage segment, in which Choo was just, like, rolling the roadie case around, with nary a care in the world. The camera panned over to Nathan Frazer and Axiom, who were chatting with Je’Von Evans and Cedric Alexander. Frazer told Evans he had a “good match” and said he’d eventually “get his.” Evans thought Frazer was being condescending. Frazer said he didn’t mean anything by it. But did he? Did he actually??
Cut to Vic Joseph who hyped Trick Williams vs. Ethan Page at Halloween Havoc, as well as Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia taking on Fatal Influence later in the show.
Another video package, hyping the aforementioned women’s tag team match, followed by a promo of Vaquer and Giulia.
Giulia talked about the roads she has taken, and how important it was that she paved her own way. She bragged about conquering Europe, Japan, and South America and said that it didn’t matter how many heads she had to crush, she was going to end up in WWE. Which she eventually did. Giulia said she and Vaquer had a match before and then became friends. She said that she wanted to team with Vaquer because she can only trust someone that hits as hard as she does. Very Sheamus-y. She said that once they beat Perez and Jade, they’ll be on their way to the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
ANOTHER backstage segment saw Adriana Rizzo post-attack. But who performed said attack? That’s the question. Tony D’Angelo told Luca (not Ruca) and Stacks to get a doctor! They couldn’t though, because they had a match. Well, Luca did. Don’t worry, it wouldn’t last long.
Oba Femi def. Luca Crucifino (with Stacks Lorenzo)
Oba started the match by immediately pushing Luca. Luca tried to jump on him, but Oba caught him in mid-air and hit a shoulder-breaker. Oba put Luca in a half nelson and Luca tried to make a comeback, but Oba overpowered him and gave him a chokeslam for his trouble. Luca recovered and tried a plancha dive again, but Oba clubbed his back and then tossed him back into the ring. Then, Oba hit his pop-up powerbomb, and that was it for poor, poor Luca Crucifino.
His best friend Stacks tried checking on him, but Oba (more like O-bully, amirite??) tossed him out of the ring and kept beating up poor Luca. Luca tried to rally but Oba is gigantic. Oba set up a table next to the barricade and then searched for a toolbox. That was enough to draw Tony D. from backstage! And for his efforts, he was sent straight into the steel steps. He then zip tied Tony to the turnbuckle and put poor, poor Stacks through the aforementioned table. Then, he cleared the announce table and put a ladder between the table and ring apron. Then, he power bombed poor, poor Luca through the ladder!
The segment ended with Oba talking mad shhh to Tony D’Angelo.
Speaking of talking mad sh*t, backstage video showed Ethan Page and Trick Williams walking to, presumably, confront each other in the ring ahead of their title match.
Before that, however, a hype video for a new women’s wrestler aired. The wrestler is Delta and, if she’s anything like the airline that serves as her namesake, she’s going to be terrible and ruin my vacation to Paris last year. WWE must have felt my hatred, because they renamed her Zaria.
Following both of those backstage segments, another backstage segment aired (because of course it did), featuring Andre Chase. Andre talked about how Chase U was designed to help people try to better themselves. They tried to make Ridge Holland better than people thought he was, they won titles, but then Holland betrayed. So, he said, everyone was right about Ridge. And now, he’s going to make Ridge feel how he felt. He challenged Ridge Holland to an Ambulance Match at Halloween Havoc…
Ethan Page and Trick Williams both entered the ring. Ethan was wearing a suit and glasses, which makes him, by definition, an intellectual and, thus, better than everybody.
The promo segment that these two put was phenomenal and, truly, should just be seen itself. So, here you go.
Cut to a backstage segment with Cora Jade and Rozanne Perez talking smack about Giulia Gulia and Stephanie Vaquer, Fatal Influence joined them and said that they’ll take care of of Kelanie Jordan while Jade and Perex take care of Giulia and Vaquer. Because this is professional wrestling, as soon as her name was said, Jordan showed up and said she saw fear in the eyes of Jade and Perez. Then, she asked Fatal Influence who she was going to defend the title against, and Fallon Henley (another third grader-ass name) said she’d find out later…
An ad for NXT at the old ECW Arena aired, and that was awesome.
Karmen Petrovic and her freakin’ Samurai sword made their entrance, but any of her toughness instantly vanished when she saw Ashanti Adonis in the crowd, and blushed like the lovesick puppy dog she and Adonis seem to be.
Sol Ruca (not Luca) made her entrance and another four minute match commenced. You know. Because we need more time for back-to-back-to-back-to-backstage segments.
Sol Ruca def. Karmen Petrovic
The good news is, for what it was, this was a very good match! It was back-and-forth for a while, with Ruca standing on Petrovic for a little bit, perhaps helping her with her possible back pain. After that, Ruca hit a superkick but Petrovic made a comeback. However, she then got distracted by Ashanti, though not long enough for Ruca to take advantage. Petrovic hit hit a basement kick and then got a nearfall.
Ruca made her comeback, hitting a Codebreaker, some punches, and a springboard axe handle. She got a two-count and followed that up with another kick, and Petrovic responded with a kick of her own. Petrovic then hit her cross arm slam, but then got distracted again by Ashanti. Ruca capitalized on Petrovic’s lust and hit the Sol Snatcher to pick up the win.
As if there hasn’t been enough hormonal melodrama for one night, we cut backstage to see Nikkita Lyons giving a lil pep talk to Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe. They told her that they’d get their moment. Nikkita told Tyson to be aggressive. B-E aggressive. And then Oba Femi showed up and gave Nikkita her robe. She said thank you, and Oba said “No, thank you.” Y’know, very seductively.
Rhea Ripley welcomed Zaria-not-Delta to WWE on X-not-Twitter.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger def. OTM (Out Tha Mud)
This is a good news/bad news situation. The good news is, this wasn’t a four-minute match. The bad news (depending on your perspective) is that it was a three-minute match.
Hank and Tank pretty much dominated the entire match. They got a bit of an upper hand when Jaida Parker tried to interfere, but but then famed NASCAR superstar Cole Custer hit Bronco Nima in the back, which allowed Hank and Tank to hit their powerslam finisher for the win.
Cut to backstage, which saw Nathan Frazer screaming that he wanted a match against Je’Von Evans. Axiom told Frazer to calm down but, as every husband knows, telling someone to calm down only makes them freak out more. Frazer yelled that he wanted to prove they were the best tag team in the world. Exit: Axiom and Frazer, Enter: Lexis King, who begged Ava to find him a cornerman, because nobody trusted him. She said he had to find one himself.
Another promo video, because why not, of Ridge Holland. Holland asked why there was so much hostility. Can’t we all just get along? Holland said that he tore Chase’s creation apart…piece by piece…brick by brick…member by member. Now, the last man standing is Andre Chase. Holland said that he’s going to be the man everyone expects him to be — the most dangerous man in NXT. Holland said that on Sunday, Chase will take his last ride in an ambulance. Then, it was revealed that Holland was inside of an ambulance of his own. He closed the door to end the segment.
We cut from that backstage segment to another backstage segment featuring Tony D’Angelo. Tony said Oba Femi took out his family and was making it more personal than a title belt. So, he was going to use every table, ladder, or chair to beat “personally” beat Oba’s ass.
Finally, IT’S TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT!
Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia def. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Jayce Jayne w/ Jasmyn Nyx)
This was a heck of a match that, as expected, began with Giulia and Vaquer dominating at first. Giulia hit Henley with a dropkick, followed by an arm drag. Jayce Jayne tagged in and immediately got kicked in her head for the effort. Giulia tagged Vaquer who kicked Jayne again, followed by a headscissors takedown and a head slam. Henley attempted a distraction and was tackled for her troubles.
That served as enough of a momentum-breaker, though, and Henley and Jayne took turns hitting Vaquer. They did a few quick tags, trying to build momentum of their own. But Vaquer hit a jawbreaker on Henley. Henley responded with a hurancanrana, and Vaquer responded with another kick, before Giulia tagged in. Giulia and Vaquer hit a double team elbow drop on their opponents, but then Jasmyn Nyx tripped Giulia. Henley and Jayne pounced on the opportunity and kept kicking Giulia into the commercial break.
A bit more back-and-forth before the final sequence. Nyx tried distracting the Two-Woman Power Trip but then Kelani Jordan came out and knocked out Nyx at ringside. This allowed Giulia to hit Jaybe with her hip check, before tagging in Vaquer, who hit her Package Shoulder-Breaker for the win!
Following the match Fatal Influence appeared and spun the wheel to make a deal! The wheel landed on “Spinner’s Choice.” But before Henley could announce their stipulation, the lights went out and Zaria appeared at the top of the ramp while Vic Joseph shouted that “She’s here!”
She’s here. And we’re gone — until next week! Happy week-before-Halloween!
